Ephedrine is not illegal in the UK, but it is subject to certain legal restrictions. Primarily, it may only be supplied by a registered pharmacy, and some preparations may require a prescription.

As far as I'm aware, pure ephedrine tablets are not sold OTC from pharmacies. There are several internet suppliers who will sell ephedrine tablets, they are either breaking the law or skirting around it by mailing the tablets from outside the UK. It is not illegal to purchase or possess a sensible personal-use quantity.

These sources can be found easily by doing a web search using the terms "ephedrine tablets" and "uk". I've never ordered it from the net (only thought about it), so I'm not able to give any opinion on suppliers.
