God love this whole world , that why He send His Only Son , Jesus down on earth, to carry our sin back. Hence, God will not choose whether rich or poor man , to be His children, agree ?
Its only we , laymen or earth people, who choose not to be His Kingdom children.

Is not hypocritical to get rich while being a Christian, is how to use the wealth (or whatever things) a person is given to.
Pertaining to the verse '...being harder for a rich man to enter the gates of heaven than it is for a camel to go through the eye of a needle' you should read further and Christ said 'with man is not possible, but with God all things are possible.'
In the Bible, king David and Solomon were very rich, but their hearts were in God. Indeed, Christ says 'For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also'. So it all depends what kind of richness you are talking about - there is richness in earth and richness in heaven, and which one you consider to be more valuable.

There are a few but I stress a few.if christians actually followed the words of the bible like they say they do there would be a lot more:
"And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? . . . Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor; and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." (Matthew 19:16-21. See also Luke 12:33)
But no doubt they would "interpret" this as only being applicable to the time and surely it couldn't actually mean what it literally says?!!

I don't drive, and right now we don't have a car. My husband is unable to drive for...well, we don't know how long. Medical condition.
We aren't rich.
And I have never given even one penny to a televangelist.

How about Catholic priests -- many take an oath of poverty. Monks also do.

it also doesn't say in the bible that you don't need to drive a car to follow Christ. use your money but never let your money use you.

A better question to ask is how many voted Republican last election. Guess whose interests they represent? Greed doesn't seem to be a problem when it comes to wheeling out candidates that pay lip service towards being good Christians.
