I know someone who retired from his job and received his works pension. He was told that he still had to sign on as he would not get his state pension otherwise. The unemployment office he went to were very rude. He had never been to one in his life. He was not happy that he would have to go there every couple of weeks to sign.
He went to look at some courses and decided to take one up as they were free to the over fifty's. He went back to the unemployment office to sign off and reported the person who was rude to him. He got an apology plus it turned out he was entitled to £10 a week for expenses.
He said that would be his first and last visit. He managed to get another job with the course that he did and says that, that will do him until he officially retires.

Why do these people treat everyone as if they are spongers. This guy had never been out of a job in his life.

In order to keep the Unemployment figures down, for years (if not decades) those on Job Seekers have been 'encouraged' to register for Incapacity Benefit instead - as an 'incentive', those on disability are paid an extra few quid a week.

Funny enough, the number of 'Disabled' has now exploded (2.4 million at last count, of which 1.4 million are currently receiving benefit, .. whilst the number on Job Seekers is a only 936 thousand) and (guess what ?) this justifies even more money on Government 'Services' (aka 'Jobs for the Boys') == 'Disability Counsellors' etc .

dss make it very hard for unemployed ppl to get a job they do a benefit calculation to see if it benefits you to go back to work but after that unless you have been claiming benefit for 26 weeks its impossible for them to help you i got a job running a small fruit and veg shop not much but its a job without there help then one day a guy came into the shop spoke to the manager and said to him that the benefit agency would pay him to train me up this was a while back but it was annoying that i got the job on my own but they wanted to jump in after, the way they ppl treat you in these places is terrible its bad enough claiming benefit without being humiliated about it, put it this way i have worked for years but if everyone got a job whos gonna pay there wages wouldnt they all be looking for new jobs?
