Doesn't it make you feel sick all these people answering to say that god isn't bound by the same rules as us, he's beyond reproach, he can make the most sickening murder moral because he said so. Its a kind of slave mentality, the master is always right, how dare we judge him, just go back to labouring. It makes me feel kind of nauseous to see human dignity reduced to that.
I think being a hypocrite is one of god's lesser crimes. I think the fact that he's such a vile and unpleasant character is only lessened by the comfort that he is after all is said and done, a work of fiction.

Exodus 34:14 is a verse that in its context was a warning about following other gods and false idols :)
Kinda like telling my son that I am his dad and I love him so I'm gonna get a little jealous if he goes walking around calling some other dude his dad and forgets about me.
In Psalm 137:8-9 Jerusalem was just taken into captivity by Babylon and the captive were told to sing a song on the way out of town. So this Psalm was about how Babylon will one day be repaid with the very same actions they did on the Jewish. Harsh? Oh yeah, but this guy is telling the Babylon future, whats going to happen when they get taken over later on. It is not saying that God is going to reach down, pick up a baby and then throw it onto some stones.
Basically I would reconsider how you view God and stop attributing to God the character of the devil. It shows how little respect or understanding you have towards God. Not your fault really, just the condition you are in. Just tell God you do want to know him better, and pray that He sends someone into your life that can teach you and show you Gods true Character.

No, YOU are the hypocrite!
You pick at a gnat and swallow a camel!
You are nothing but a skeptic, a scoffer, a mocker!
Try reading the text in context! Try finding out WHY God said that! Try determining what Babylon did that was so extremely terrible that God would actually say something like that.
Quit judging as though you actually sit on the edge of eternity and see the hearts and minds of people both past and present (not to mention future). Such arrogance! Were you there when God formed the stars? Did you tell the morning star to start shining? What have you created out of nothingness?
Sorry, but you're in no position to be judging ANY thing! The guilty doesn't condemn the Judge and expect the Judge to show him any grace or mercy! Try that with a human judge and see how far it gets you!

The bible uses analogies, remember all that is good is from God, all evil from the devil, we have both existing in us all
many theries on the daughter of Babylon, not a person but she represents all the evil entered into mankind, some religions say it is the catholic faith, it could be said to be something -faith-persons who have turned away from God which if we analize the modern world in comparison to Gods law we all have gone astray, to if you read your Bible Babylon was detroyed as foretold by the prophets, some theories using Daniel or Revelations say it is too do with world future events, I dont know myself just saying what is being said its up to the individual to work out your own beliefs etc, try not to worry,it also says in the Bilbe from Jesus-no one knows not even Jesus knew when the end will be, day or night etc,-basically nobody has any idea I think they are warnings for us to get it right

It is a sad indictment on the human race that we cannot even invent a supreme being that gives out a consistent message. Aren't the following two quotes from the same bible?
'An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth'
'Turn the other cheek'
Sorry can't give chapter & verse references.

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: `LOVE your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
(Matthew 22:36-40, NIV)
"If any man come to me, and does not HATE his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple" Luke 14:26
God, the Bible is confusing sometimes.

Don't know about God but I know we are all hypocrites, liars and cheats - so it makes our judgment about God a bit flawed.
