JWs ask a question are they the true religion and then get 24 people from their assembly to vote and say they are. then cut the question off before the 3 days are up so that no negative votes can be counted or entered. marks of a cult.
I challenge them to tell me what Revelation 2:8 means and what is Jesus meaning when He refers to Himself as Alpha and Omega, the first and the Last? WAS DEAD AND IS ALIVE> Also Rev 21:6; Rev 22:13,14 and Rev 22:16. I look forward to your twisting and spiritual gymnastics on this one.

To Adara...you didn't answer the question. Who is the Alpha and Omega, who was dead and is alive?
There is no blasphemy in what I say it is a valid question.

Scripture says "If you reprove a wise man he will be your friend"
I ask this question in love to reprove JWs who do not think Jesus was God.
Read for yourselves what He says.
Then you must think what to do about it.
God bless you in your choice.

According to the protestants they are. How ever some of their doctrine is more in line with scripture than what is accepted by protestants. Not everyone keeps questions up the whole three days. I usually don't simply because you usually get all the answers you are going to get within the first 12 to 24 hours.

First of all to answer Jesussaves: The witnesses have never changed their viewpoint that only 144,000 go to heaven. They have had different ideas as to when the end of this system would be. But tell me one religion that hasn't. And if anyone even bothered to look at the definition of a cult, then yes, JW's are a cult, Catholics are a cult, every religion on this earth is a cult. As for your question, "spiritual gymnastics" and "scriptural twisting" are not needed to answer your question. A lot of people's questions stem from the fact that they have no concept of Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages. And of course, they use the most inaccurate translation on the Bible, the King James Version. I'll explain this to you, although it appears you have already made up your mind. At least I can say I tried! :) In Revelation 1:8, Jesus does not refer to himself as the Alpha and the Omega. In Revelation 1:8, this statement the "Alpha and the Omega," is in reference to God (Jehovah, Yahweh, The God...etc), not Jesus. For instance, Rev. 22:12 is referring to Jesus speaking, but you can not blindly assume that Revelation 22:13 is referring to Jesus. According to Greek grammar rules, there is a change in speakers between Rev. 22:15 and Revelation 22:16. It is correct that in Rev 1:17, when the angel is speaking for Jesus, it refers to "the first and the last". But the statement "first and last" , which some correlate with the "alpha and omega," has limitations, notably, relating to Jesus' death and resurrection. Jesus was the only(first) person resurrected directly by God, and since all other people are resurrected through Jesus, he was the last. This also agrees with 1 Corinthians 15:20. When "first and last" is again referred to in Revelation 2:8, it is in respect to Jesus' death and resurrection. But in Greek, when it references this title with The God(Jehovah, Yahweh), there is no implied limitation. When you look at this reasonably, when you see an expression used in the unlimited sense applied to The God, and then see that same expression where it is not SPECIFICALLY indicated that it is referring to God, we can not automatically say the expression refers to Jesus in its unlimited(Almighty) sense. The title "first and last" in the Bible is not used indiscriminately in the scriptures. myonesimus@yahoo.com

ISAIAH 41:4, 44:6, 48:12
In these scriptures Jehovah rightly describes his own position as the ONE AND ONLY ALMIGHTY God.
REVELATION 1:8
This is the first of three times in Revelation that Jehovah himself speaks from heaven. (See also Revelation 21:5-8; 22:12-15.)
REVELATION 1:17 and 2:8 “I am the First and the Last.”
A check of the context shows this “First and Last” was with definite limitations, was relative to just the matter of Christ Jesus' death and resurrection, as verse 18 shows. Christ was the first one raised in the first resurrection, and the last one that will be raised directly by Jehovah God. Others who follow in that resurrection will be raised by God through Christ. (John 6:40; 1 Cor. 6:14)
In fact, this limitation is also shown by the footnote on “First” in Revelation 1:17 in the New World Translation, where “First” is shown to mean “Firstborn” by one ancient manuscript. Christ was the firstfruits of those asleep in death. (1 Cor. 15:20)
When “First and Last” is again applied to Christ Jesus, at Revelation 2:8, note that again it is with respect to death and resurrection. But when it speaks thus of Jehovah no limitation is set on the meaning.
Alpha and Omega
While many commentators apply this title both to God and to Christ, a more careful examination of its use restricts its application to Jehovah God. The first verse of Revelation shows that the revelation was given originally by God and through Jesus Christ, hence the one speaking (through an angelic representative) at times is God himself, and at other times it is Christ Jesus. (Re 22:8)
Revelation 1:8 (RS) says: “‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God [“Jehovah God,” NW], who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Although the preceding verse speaks of Christ Jesus, it is clear that in verse 8 the application of the title is to “the ALMIGHTY” God.
The final occurrence of the title is at Revelation 22:13, which states: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” It is evident that a number of persons are represented as speaking in this chapter of Revelation; verses 8 and 9 show that the angel spoke to John, verse 16 obviously applies to Jesus, the first part of verse 17 is credited to “the spirit and the bride,” and the one speaking in the latter part of verse 20 is manifestly John himself.
"The Alpha and the Omega” of verses 12-15, therefore, may properly be identified as the same one who bears the title in the other two occurrences: Jehovah God. The expression, “Look! I am coming quickly,” in verse 12, does not require that these aforementioned verses apply to Jesus, inasmuch as God also speaks of himself as “coming” to execute judgment. (Compare Isa 26:21.) Malachi 3:1-6 speaks of a joint coming for judgment on the part of Jehovah and his “messenger of the covenant.”
The title “the Alpha and the Omega” carries the same thought as “the first and the last” and “the beginning and the end” when these terms are used with reference to Jehovah.
It should be noted: Rev 2:8 does not use the Greek words Alpha and Omega instead uses ProtOs and Eschatos which is simply first and last. Where Rev 1:8 does use Alpha and O (Omega) to describe the title of Jehovah God.

Clearly you are confused, I will help you out in some simple facts of Y!A.
It is open to the asker how long the question is open, however, when the question is open to voting, NO ONE but Y!A controls when it is closed.
As for getting people to answer a question a certain way, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I answer on many subjects and answer ONLY as I see fit, no coaching, no coaxing, etc.
Clearly you are a bitter and confused person, I hope you can get the help you need.

I wasn't trying to be rude just trying to test the ground a bit. Thank you for your polite responce.
In that case yes they are a cult depending on what kind of a doctrine you yourself practice, to you {they} would be a cult, to them {you} would be a cult, to us {both} of you would be a cult, that is....if you are teaching erronously.
And I would be considered a heritic to my people, because I follow the doctrine of hashluchim Yeshua hamoshiach.
So what is the deffinition of a true folllower of G-d and a true doctrine in these days?
Is it even possible to have a true doctrine. Yes.... ofcourse and it is:
{ONE WHO WALKS THE MIDDLE PATH}
For it is written: look neither to the left nor the right, so the only option left is to stay the middle course, this is an easy rational approach.
This approach prevents a person on adding or deducing from what is written, instead it demenstrates how to follow exactly what has been spoken through the mouth of holy men of G-d, beleiving the prophets and the shluchim [apostles] for they are the builders of our faith in G-d through the messiah our corner stone.
By the way.... it is foolish for anyone to think that when G-d gave the angel the order to seal the 144,000 that it is reffering about the Jahovas witnesses, that is a ridiculous, and self decieving notion and borders on insanity, does this mean then that the JWS are jews? lol ....Yeah right...... give me a break.
How much of the truth do you people have to "cover up" before you are aware you are believing a lie!
These 144,000 are [jews], infact they are picked out from 12,000 of every tribe of the children of Israel
{I would like the Jahovas witnesses to tell me if they believe they are from any of these tribes and where do they come up with this crazyness}
and only G-d knows what {Jew} belongs to which tribe these days, for that information is also kept from Israel, because of the diaspora.
So please don't try to decieve those who cannot be decieved and whichever snake gives me a thumbs down, that is who I am reffering this too!
Now.........
YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE.
BUT HOW WILL THEY KNOW IF THEY DO NOT HEAR AND HOW WILL THEY HEAR IF NO ONE IS SENT.
Therefore,... I send to you prophets and wisemen and you scorn them and mock them and persecute them from city to city.
This says the L-rd the G-d of Israel: I have sent forth to you the word, and you did not know when I was amoung you, if you do not believe in my little ones, how will you be able to beleive in me for I am amoung them.
Don't you know and have you not heard that they are the apple of my eye and my prize posession?

The term alpha and omega means no beginning and no end. Jesus told his disciples to preach Matthew 28:19,20 and he said that his true disciples would have love among themselves Jehovah witnesses does both why does that make them a cult??

yea buddy, twisting man, that is the ultimate key to these people dead in Christ. It really baffles me to how people can say that Christ was not God in the fles. He never said I am God but said it in a more suttle way, like in revelation there. But the real question is what are they afraid of? Why don't you want to accept the fact that it's true? Just because I believe it to be true doesn't make it true. It's true because Jesus Himself said so.

A cult? No. An organization, God's true organization, yes.
Do you know that a cult is run by a "MAN". Jehovah's Witnesses look to Jehovah God for guidance, and his only begotten son, Jesus Christ.
A cult follows a man. Witnesses follow God and his name is Jehovah.
Who told you this nonsense? Won't Armageddon be a wonderful day? I cannot wait, whether I do make it or not, I just cannot wait until Armageddon when ALL the wicked ones and blasphemers in the earth won't be around anymore.
Thank you, questioner, but the answer is concisely, NO.
