The 1900 census of Scott County, Indiana, shows a Clarence Hosea, age 12, living in Vienna, son of Erastus and Francis [sic] Hosea. Could this be the man? In 1910 a Clarence E. Hosea born in 1888 was serving in the Navy, on the USS North Carolina. In the 1920 census, Clarence and Nellie are married and living in Lawrence County, Indiana, with a daughter whose name looks like MArgaret, age 11 months. You might be able to find Nellie's maiden name by checking Indiana county marriage records for the late 1910s; then you can trace her back in the census. Good luck!
