HI,
I have tried to upgrade my computer from Vista Homes Basic to Vista Home |Premium. Where do I start - forget it - it does not work, the problems that the upgrade caused was that I had to contact Dell and Microsoft - as the computer started to go slow and when typing - words came up 10/15 seconds later.
In the end the whole system had to be reverted back to orginal settings. Which has taken couple of weeks nearly.
Then to be told that the ' Vista Home premium' will not work on my computer. ( I really needed that). as when you purchase the upgrade they do not tell you that .
So as to date - I have had to reinstall all drivers etc etc. and so far lost money on the purchase of upgrade as the time period has run out.
Why advertise upgrades that will not work properly on your computer.

Just though I would like to let off steam. many thanks

If you had called Dell to purchase Vista Home Premium FIRST, they would have told you that your PC wasn't capable of running it.

You could also have asked here and been told the same thing, if you had supplied the Model number of your PC.

Live and learn!!!

if you have a normal desktop PC you can upgrade your processor (you should also have about 2GB's of RAM - 1 is enough but 2 is better). Dual core CPU's start from less than £40; make sure it's a processor that is compatible with your motherboard though and you must set it up in BIOS before you start. It's not as difficult as it sounds ;-)

Its not only you - many consumers hate Vista saying "its just not ready" for the desktop:

If you've had it up to the eyeballs with Microsoft, then why not upgrade to Linux - at least its free!
