A charley horse is the common name for a muscle spasm, especially in the leg.

It's a muscle cramp in your calf. I used to get them a lot as a teenager. My grandmother told me to eat a banana every day because I needed more potassium. I did and still do and I think I've had maybe 2 since. I'm 36.

It is a muscle contraction. They come when you work a muscle or when you are low on potassium. They are pretty harmless though they are painful. Eat a bannana to get your potassium level up.
