My brother and I live in seattle and we are just geting into roadbiking.(my first bike is coming on friday from an online source)We are thinking about riding from seattle to seaside for thanksgiving but dont know if thats reasonable. We havent riddent before adn I dont know if 3 weeks is enough time to train. Also I dont know how we would ride down there. Is there a trail if so how far is it and is it safe. Please help

WOW, start training ASAP! Take a few days off before hand.

i'm no expert in oregon cycling, but i've done the Seattle-to-Portland ride twice now, and I can tell you that you can avoid I-5 (I'd avoid it like the plague!) by using a rough version of the StP route.

also you might try posting in the Cascade.org forum, it has lots of local cyclists that know the NW roads well.

The best way is to take I-5 down to Olympia, then take Highway 6 to the Coast, that will get you to Aberdeen, then take Highway 101 South until you get to your destination, that is the only way I know of. Good luck on your trip.
