when I trained as a hairdresser the college had a working salon. Clients would pay a fraction of the cost, which was only really to cover the cost of products used. We were supervised very step of the way. Try your local college.

Ask at a local salon if the trainee can practise on her - so long as you don't mind her coming out looking like something the cat dragged in.

Children's haircuts don't cost much in any case - around ten pounds at most.

Why don't you do it yourself? That's free. My daughter's never had a haircut from a salon, I've always done it myself and it turns out much better! Even when I cut it it from waist length into a Louise Brooks-style bob!

While it is best to get it done at a salon, yes you could ask if a trainee will do it, as someone stated they will be watched by someone who knows what they are doing and if need be they will take over...and it should still cost you nothing. However it should only cost about £7-12 anyway.

look into colleges/training places around your area as they always hold training days in colleges and salons when they need models and volunteers.
A junior would cut the hair while the manager waatches and guides them - I've done it loads of times.

Check out the local colleges that teach hairdressing, as they are often looking for models to practice on.

Try a hairdresser / beauty school. They may have special class days when they offer free haircuts for "practicals".
