Largely depends

a. on the Asker (Our "Tin Foil Hat" friend frequently has a tongue in the cheek)

b. on the Question. (Blatant Hate speech compared to a genuine heart felt request for information)

c. on the Phrasing. (Sometimes there's a typo thet'll completely change the feel of the question - humour in responce to unintentional humour)

d. the list is endless...

A-This site is actually meant for helping others, which is something I love to do.

B- By teaching others some of the things I've learned, it can benefit them and help them throughout life.

C- ....no...not really. Although, when I don't answer for a while I do start to feel guilty...

D- Comparing is fun sometimes, especially when the question causes a big uproar.

E- By thinking about some of the questions, you can actually start to think things up that would never cross your mind usually, which is good in expanding your mind and creating new ideas.

F- All in all, it's a great way to pass time, help others, and at the same time..it's enjoyable. : )

Pretty much all of them for me, but not equally so (see, there's D).

A lot of it is "C"; I feel a certain degree of responsiblity to correcting the misinformed and pointing out logical fallacies when I see them. That can be related to "A" at times, though less so. With some questions I do find that I perhaps think of things in a new way by writing a thorough response (E). That can be related to "B" too.

In my case, I would say it's "all of the above." I don't usually have one single reason for answering a question. Most of the time, I answer because someone asked, and I know an/the answer; it just seems logical for me to do so.

To help the people who have asked the questions, if someone else can benefit from the experiences you have had personally in your life then it is always wise to share the knowledge.

You never know, one day the knowledge you may have might just save someones life.

Often to help, sometimes because I'm irritated by the question and sometimes for a bit of fun.
