Don't say that the 300D is outdated and can't fit alot of lens. I just want to know bout the image quality and advantages. No brand complains here too please. And can you suggest a lens to come along with it?

What is 'better'? Canon 300D is better for saving your money by buying an old and cheap model. Pentax K100D is better as a new and reach of features camera but its image stabilizer can help to save money by buying not stabilized lenses too. As for image quality, I think it is the same (Sony's 23.5 x 15.7 mm CCD instead of Canon's 22.7 x 15.1 mm CMOS sensor). As regards lenses, Pentax has an excellent optics (especially 'Limited Edition'). Still, who can say that Canon has worse (except kit)?

Hello,

I have the canon 300D and I love it. The image quality is great and all the lenses I had for my Rebel 2000 work on it just fine. I have bought new lenses and they all work with the camera as well. If you don't intend to make poster size prints, then this would be the camera to get. You can make an 11x14 easily and still have great quality. You can spend the money you save on the body to buy some really great lenses. I use a 50mm f/1.4 prime lens a lot. I also use a 28-135 lens. This is probably my favorite lens. You might also want the 75-300 with or without IS. You can buy this camera on ebay for about $400. This will save you a ton over other, more up-to-date cameras, allowing you to spend the money where it really counts-the glass! Spend your money buying a good camera (the 300D) and really good glass and you will be really happy with the way your pictures turn out.

By the way, I just upgraded to a 30D and now use the 300D as the back-up camera. I keep a lens on it so I can switch cameras quickly to avoid missing the shot. I still get great results and none of my friends or clients can tell which camera the photos come from. The 300D is a great camera!

K100D great! i exploit a K10D (additionally Pentax) and that i picked it up as quickly as I went out to choose on between the Canon 30D and the Nikon D200. I even have by no potential regretted my determination, the lenses are wonderful (basically as stable and doubtless greater useful than the canon's) plus they're far greater decrease priced. The K100D 'great' could have greater useful low easy overall performance, in digital camera image stabilization, help for SDM lenses besides as in many cases occurring screw pushed ones, and sensor based dirt relief. And the declare that the used lenses for the Canon would be greater dissimilar is thoroughly fake. The Pentax might actually help any ok-mount lens ever created, there have been over 25 million so a strategies, and that basically consists of the Pentax Branded ones. Canon have replaced their mount slightly over the years, an previous lens could greater healthy on the digital camera, however the digital camera won't be waiting to meter with it (and there is different compatibility matters besides.) The "great" is the reducing fringe of technologies interior the "K100D" lineup of cameras, the 300D is previous hat, Canon have made various advancements between the 300D and 400D, however the Pentax is the main cutting-edge and the best choice. do no longer enable each and all the Canon talking heads fool you into thinking Canon is the only thank you to circulate. they're doing you a disservice. according to danger you're able to learn the Sony Alpha, and the Olympus cameras besides. F-supply up

I have a K100D and have been very happy with it. They are competitively priced, and compared to a 300D you will also get a full manufacturers warranty.

Plus, with the K100D, you get image stabilisation (IS) built into the body. You may find, as I have, that you find yourself buying different lenses for different purposes. This is where the IS built into the body saves $$ compared to buying each lens with built-in IS.

Buy the Pentax K10D since it has 10megapixels, accepts all K-mount lenses and the Anti-Shake in the body works with older K-mount manual focus lenses.

Choose a lens based on what you plan to photograph the most.
