In fact, by saying "the" and not "a" or "one of the...messengerS"...it really goes against the Quran, huh?

No, it doesn't because the article (THE) isn't emphasized. Also, Muhammad (SAW) is the Prophet whose example Muslims are told to follow in the Qur'an.

No shahadah in Islam does not violate the Qur'an.We testify that no God than Allah and Muhammad is messenger of Allah is only a stressing because jews and christians do not acknowledge Muhammad as Allah's messenger..God treats all messengers are the same. with no distinction. All prophets and messengers of Allah were brounght into heaven. They had no sin at all..Allah's messengers were the important persons in line with their eras. They explained the contents of holy book and they gave a good example for its practising.
They conveyed the instructions and prohibitions from Allah.to humans.

Shahadah does not violate the Quran. Man only declares his belief in One God and his Messenger.
Quranic commandment: "make no distinction among any of the messengers" Surah 2, verse 285
This verse simply mean that do not compare one Messenger with another and also do not say one Messenger is superior than other. Because God sent to all of them to different people at different times under circumstances with sometimes limited message and sometimes broader message as the intelligence of men progressed by the passage of time.
A Muslim and a Jew in Madina were arguing between them each saying his Prophet is superior than yours. Then they went to Prophet Muhammad to decide who is better. Mohammad said do not compare me with other. All Prophets are assign to do their duty to God.

Hello, I am happy to see you have an interest in Islam and have looked through the Quran. InshAllah may Allah guide you to the straight path :) Basically muslims have to follow islam through the teachings of the Quran and the hadith (sunnah of Prophet Muhammad pbuh). NOTHING can be added to Islam as that has been prohibited in by Allah.. The shahadah also comes from the Quran :)

Your only problem is your mindset is to tied up with English grammar. Even with that problem, I don't see any distinction between the Prophet Muhammad and other Messengers of God, unless if we bear witness that Muhammad is the best Messenger.

well " THE messenger of Allah." "THE" means prophet Mohammad
u have to know Arabic very good to understand
well prophet Mohammad is the only 1 that is " prophet and a messenger" but others r just prophets sent as messengers but yet not messengers....
cause prophet's Mohammad massage is 2 all people not just so a specific nation
the shahada goes 100% with quran and with sunna...nothing is wrong :)

It does not in any way violate the Quran. I understand your point and you make an interesting observation but if you look at the Arabic, you will understand.
When it says, "the prophet", there is no emphasis on the word "the". So it is just like saying, "There is no god but God and Jesus is the prophet of Allah".
Either way, the Shahada is not meant to elevate any particular prophet. If it did, the Arabic word for "THE" would have been included with emphasis.
Lastly, Muslims believe in 124,000 prophets of whom 26 have been named in the Quran. using shahada to name all 26 would not be wrong AT ALL, however this is concise and is not meant to distinguish.

I have given the answer before... Mohammad is the final messenger of God. By accpeting Prophet Mohammad as the Final messenger we also accept the other prophets mentioned in the Qur'an. Why should one be vocal about it!!!
Prophets like Moses, Jesus, Noah were sent to specific people. For Example, Moses was sent to Bani Israel, Noah was sent to his own people, Jethro was sent to Madyan, Jacob, Joseph, David Jesus came to warn Israel. Prophet Mohammad was sent for Mankind not just Arabs.

1- No it doesn't
2-By accepting Muhammad (saw) as a messenger and prophet of Allah that automatically means that all the previous messengers and prophets are accepted.
3- Why do you care?

The Shahada is the declaration of faith, and it does just that, it says what you NEED to believe in order for one to be a Muslim. Seeing that Christianity and Judaism do not recognise our prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), it is in the Shahada to make it clear that if one does not believe in Muhammad (s.a.w.), then he/she cannot be a Muslim. It is definitely not in there to say that he is "better" than other prophets.
