WHEN ON HOLIDAY IN SPAIN I ALWAYS BUY LITTLE PASTRIES, WHICH LOOK LIKE MINI CORNISH PASTIES, THEY ARE WONDERFUL , I CA NNOT WORK OUT WHAT THE FILLING IS , TRIED ASKING INSIDE CAKE SHOPS, AND EVEN LOOKED IT UP IN SPANISH /ENGLISH DICTIONARIES. NO.LUCK. I THINK THEY ARE ALSO CALLED ANGELS CAKES.

Sounds tasty but I'm curious is it like fresh tuna like tuna steaks or is it canned tuna that you buy in the shop? lol. I wanna make it now.

Thanks Lola for the tips......and thanks northern gran for bringing this to me...I'm excited.

Oh, I know what mean!! they are called "Empanada de bonito" and they are salty right? As the other answerer said "bonito" is tuna, so the filling contains tomato, onion, garlic, a little bit of green pepper and tuna. You have to cook all the veggies together with a bit of olive oil, then add the tuna and then filling the pastries. It is true that they are sold in Cake shops! I'm glad you like it!! I hope you prepare them and they taste great!! Good luck!!

P.S: Canned tuna in oil is perfect and safer as you don't have to worry if it is well cooked or not! the pastries will also last longer if you use canned tuna!!
