sunny: I'm a Christian - ( the genuine kind) and sad to say, there are people within this world, who exploit others by hiding behind the cloak of Christianity to rip-off the unsuspecting ! You are correct - "by their fruits [spiritual or a lack thereof] - you will know them" ! Rip-offs in the name of Jesus Christ have been going on since the early days of Christianity. The Apostle Paul made reference to this. The Christian church does have a spiritual obligation to God, to be feeding the poor, visiting the sick, etc. , etc. In general, a Christian [genuine one that is] will be " making this world a better place" !!!

they pay taxes on everything they buy and own. the pastor and the people who meet at the church together gives money to pay ownership or rent on the buildings they use.
they have nice cars because they entertain important people in the community, take them out to eat and pay for the meal, so they couldnt very well use a toyota.
they have private jets in order to get to the meetings faster because public airlines are limited in where they can land, and many meetings are in places where only private jets can go. they are picked up in nice cars (because they are treated like important people) and taken to the meeting.
they also have alot of people on staff that they have to pay wages to for the work that they do in supporting the ministry.... setting up and taking down the stage surroundings.
they also sign their names to be responsible to pay for rent on the convention building..... then they have to trust that the money will come in from those who give, to cover the cost.
they also budget for giving to help the poor and any number of other ministries and charities that count on them regularly.
they have frequent reputable auditors concerning all finances that they handle.
are you doing anything to help the poor.. and make the world a better place?

they do pay tax on there salary, that is why there are member meetings, to discuss the annual/bi annual/ whatever bills. The pastors salary is on there too. Those mega church preachers need to be preaching salvation, that's the problem. I could care less if they don't pay taxes, they need to preach the gospel. All those people and not preaching salvation? IT's really sad.

Don't you know pastors have to pay tax on their salary like anyone else. It is the Church which does not pay tax. As for cars the government furnishes the president cars, planes and helicopters. a home and any other type of transportation he needs. The president has to pay tax too.

They're just your common garden variety of blood-sucking leech.
There's good money to be made from religion IF you can keep a straight face.
