I am in crippling need of a decent digital slr as I am a student photographer, but I do not have the means to out right purchase one. I can however pull off installments. Anybody know of any websites that offer this feature?

Thanks!

Hello,

Try putting it on a credit card with a low interest rate. If you can afford installments, then you should be able to afford the monthly payment on a credit card. Just don't over-buy. Get the camera you need and don't waste money on the bells and whistles you won't use. You can always upgrade later when your photography is paying you back. You can also check out walmart. They sell DSLR's. Maybe you can put it on a lay-a-way program. I don't know how long they will give you to pay it off so you would have to check that out.

I don't know of any websites that sell cameras that will allow installment payments. They might have their own credit card that you can apply for but be careful of the interest rate. If it is high, your payments will be high also.

If you have excellent credit you might qualify for a personal loan from your bank or a finance company. If your credit isn't all that good then find a store with a layaway plan. The only places that allow you to use something and make weekly payments are "rent to own" stores, if they even have DSLR's, and they are a huge rip-off. You'd end up paying 3 to 4 times more than if you just bought the camera outright.

Layaway is probably your best option.
