They discovered I was a true Veteran from 1969 to 1975. But I did appreciate the salute they gave me.

I did ask them if they would walk my walk but they said a flat no.

You served 6 years on active duty that you aren't proud of? I do truly feel sorry for you brother. But your previous posts make you seem like just another liberal troll, I'm sad to say. I fully support the war, and might have to do another stint sooner than later. I can guarantee you that if I saw your DD-214 I would not shake like a leaf. I would shake your hand and thank you for your service. If you don't believe in the war, that is your right. But rest assured that there are plenty of men in the present generation like myself ready to keep fighting for what we believe in...

Erudite,

the only salute you got was when they flipped you the Bird,

this is recognized as a true salute to the man that bought us all the episodes of the "Erudite Troll Zone" but rates way under the Vulcan salute given by "Trekkie's" at Star Trek Conventions.

Or probably the Yellow-brown stains on the paper in the "Character Remarks Section" were stomach churning!!

you could request a replica for the period of the national archives applying the links provided in previous solutions. although do no longer report your DD-214 at your county records workplace. This makes it a public record and an common aim for identity thieves.

If by your question you are inferring , that as a vet, you are against the war...then you learned very little when it comes to what fighting for freedom is about.

I salute you as a brother Vietnam veteran, so I will say "welcome home" to you.

I'm sure your DD214 shows you to be a warrior, but a 214 doesn;t mean a good grasp of world politics or just what this war on terror is all about. If you fought Mr Victor Charles...think about this: those terrorist scum are MUCH worse than Charlie. At least those communist bastards didn't say that you had to convert or die...except to thier own fellow Vietnamese.

why do you care...you have your feelings about this war and other people have theirs...that's the joys of being a free country we can all agree to disagree...

and do you always carry your dd 214 with you just in case you want to "prove" your military service? i know my dad doesn't he doesn't need to "prove" that he was in vietnam or in the army...

I'm sure there's a question or meaningful comment in your post somewhere, but damned if I can find it.

I doubt that you ever showed a DD214 to anybody. And if your did, it was probably somebody else's.
