they always put their cats first...

example: I can't go to the movies cause I need to go home and feed the cat...

what percentage of you cat lovers, (who are most likely single women). would give up your cat inorder to meet a man.

Also, I'm a man and I will never date a crazy cat lady.

This shouldn't be a problem. If you are going out on a date, or know you will be back later than usual for any reason, you can leave an extra food out, the food they would have normally got when you got in. They might eat it a bit sooner than when you would usually put it out but at least they will have had their evening meal. Alternativley, you could put out some biscuits if you don't want to give them another "wet" food, or meat. Just make sure you get a good brand (I use IAMS) and don't rely only on dry food as your cat could get "clogged up". There is nothing wrong with this, it just costs a little in vet bills and hassel with your cat as they will give you some stuff to put in their food. We all know cats can detect a MILE away when you have done that coz they are fussy litte things !!!
Last but not least, make the date or whatever you are doing a little bit later, go back and feed the cat, have your shower and change or whatever and then go out.
As a cat owner I'm sure you will know cats like attention some of the time, so obviously every night out is not good for the cat (or the bank balance !!!) but that should work.

Hope this helps !!!

P.S to actually answer your question !!!! - I am not single, but either way I would NEVER EVER give up a pet. There is no need for the things I have just suggested should keep you out of that problem.

Dogs are different, need human contact a LOT, but cats do like their "me" time, so as I said, don't go out EVERY night, and everything will be ok !!!

You are the crazy one! There are other reasons women would say I can't go to a movie because I need to go home and feed the cat. maybe it is an excuse to get away from you. What about that? I love my cat and I go out all the time and stay out all day or later at night never gives me problems. I even work. I have a job! I go out with men who like nature and animals , not cold men who don't like other living beings. sounds like you need to man up and get with it, you are not the center of the universe my friend, nothing wrong with having a pet, and that doesn't make you a crazy cat lady. hahahaha!

LOL! I've had cats all my life. I've had two loving, satisfied husbands and more lovers (devoted, by the way) than I can remember, silly man.

I currently have 3 cats. I provide the love, they take care of themselves. Most of the time, they just want to sleep and get an occasional petting session in.

A dog, God they are so needy! You have to stay around all the time, they just need, need, need. You leave a dog alone in the house for two days and you'll come home to chewed shoes, torn upholstery, all of your books eaten along with all of your computer and Video center wiring.

Cats are so much better. When I have to travel (which is a lot), my cats are perfectly happy with a large bowl of dry food, water, favorite blankets and a lot of cat trees. Sheesh! Unless they're ill, they are fine on their own.

Here's what I think: I suspect your lady friends are using their cats as a nifty excuse to break dates!

If anyone ever asked me to give up anything in order for me to be with them, I'd run as fast as I could from someone who is or will obviously become a controlling, demanding psycho. In other words a crazy control man.

Sheesh.

Hmm, well thats strange that you would think that.
I'm a very happily married woman to a wonderful husband of 16 years, that owns my own business-
and we have six cats.
We didnt have them when we got married, but because we are both compassionate and sensitive individuals when it comes to homeless animals we took them in. All 6 from different situations...

Maybe, if you were a more compassionate person the women would find you more attractive and worth keeping around. I personally find men much more attractive when they are caring and have a heart towards animals.
Might really be something you need to consider.
Maybe take a look at youself instead of whinning about someone that obviously has a caring heart towards an animal that is dependant upon them. :)

I think it depends on how many cats the woman has. I don't see anything wrong with one or two cats, but I knew this lady she had 26 cats. I think that's too many cats for me.

what I think matters more is does the person really put the cats first and spend more time talking to the cats than she does to people.

Um... if any girl told you she can't go to the movies because she has to go home and feed the cat, she just didn't want to go out with you. Cats can be alone for long periods of time, days even. All they need is a large bowl filled with dry food, water, and litter boxes. I've left my cats alone up to 10 days and they've been fine!

Why would a girl have to give up her cat to be with a man?? Would you expect a girl to put up her child for adoption to be with a man?? You don't make any sense. Besides, adult cats just sleep most of the time and won't bug you.

I had 4 cats (and still do) and met the most wonderful man in the world. He wasn't a cat lover but he still married me. He may never love them but he likes them and laughs at their antics, even built them a large carpeted shelf so they can sit in front of his living room window.

If you have a hatred of cats (or any animal) you should seek professional psychiatric help.

I don't think it has that much of an effect, and if some woman is more worried about checking out of a date or situation because she 'has to feed her cat' or do anything along those lines, chances are she just doesn't want to be where she is... I don't have any cats, but I know a lot of people who do... only 2 of them that have cats are single, but they don't like relationships and see lots of different people...

Think about this. Women who love cats have spent many, many hours stroking them and learning what makes them purr. If your imagination is challenged, I refer you to the Pointer Sisters singing "Slow Hand" "I want a man with a slow hand, I want a lover with an easy touch..."
My experience is that most men also like to be touched this way.

A woman with cats has demonstrated capabilities for loyalty, a little sacrifice, and the ability to put up the craziest mammals outside their own species.

I would never had dated a man who did not like cats.

21 years of a very good marriage has to say something (and yes, we have two cats.)

I have 3 cats and to be honest with you. My cats are the best pets I have ever owned. When I had a dog, I felt more tied down. I had to go home on the lunch hour to let the dog out. I had to limit my time out with friends because I had to go home and let the dog out. The dog required my closest attention as he was mischievous and he was actually messier than my 3 cats. If I leave town for an extend period of time...I am confident that the cats will be ok if I leave a large bowl of food and water out for them. They have a litter box and do not tear things up if they get bored. Personally, I would prefer not to date a man (or marry a man) that required me to get rid of my cats in order to be with him. My philosophy is love me...love my cats. If I met a man with children I certainly would not ask him to give up his kids because I do not want children. I think its just a personal choice. And, for the record...I have plenty of dates and all the men that I've gone out with adore my cats. I do not think I am destined to be single for the rest of my life. Its all about personal preference.

I hate to disagree with you folks out there,
but my cats ALWAYS come first.
This is the way it has always been in our family.
My late hubby accepted it,
he grew up in a household
that also revered cats.
My children have always considered
our cats as part of the family.
I tell people all the time that I have 9 children,
4 of them are cats
.I oldest cat child is 17.
My youngest cat child is 29 months old.
My oldest human child was born in 1970
and my youngest human child was born in 1990.
I'm not giving up any of my children
for some dude.
Sorry, but thanks for the points anyway.
I afraid kiddo,
you are just not as important
as you think you are,
cat people are very loyal to their cats.
Haven't you heard...
Dogs have owners, while cats have staff.
