CrazyJ, I know it works both ways, but many people only look at one side. Not just believers, non-believers also, each are equally narrow minded

I am not arguing that there is, without a doubt, a god. I'm just saying that possibility exists, I don't ignore science, I actually love astronomy, but we don't have answers to everything, and the earth will most likely be wiped out by an asteroid before we can even come close to answering some of the BIG questions

Sigh, ok. I'm actually going to explain this as someone with a background in physics and cosmology.
First: the space-time of the universe has a beginning at the big bang; however, before the singularity there existed mass-energy.
Second:The law of conservation of mass-energy states that matter can not be created nor destroyed; there is no scientific experiment experiment, data, imagined circumstance or credible theory to suggest this law can EVER be violated.
So the mass-energy of the universe ALWAYS existed. So we just save a step. God is not needed. TO suggest such a thing is just to salt god on top an already perfectly sound and consistent theory.

Well why don't you turn that question and ask the opposite, if you can have a god with those characteristics, then why not a universe with the same characteristics? The existence of God is usually 'proven' by saying that a God with those characteristics was necessary to create the universe, but the fact that the universe could have the same characteristics is ignored.
On the other hand, the reason why people don't believe in God is more complicated then just the fact that hes supposedly infinite, but more about how those characteristics interact with all the other attributes we describe to him.

i have come to believe that the universe is infinite in both massive and small things just like we can never reach the outer limits of space we also find things smaller and smaller all the time. just look at the elements. first we thought molecules were the smalest things, then someone split that and discovered atoms and atoms were the smallest. then we split the atom and neutron, protons, and electrons were the smallest. and now we have found even smaller sub particals and anti matter. and 15- 20 years or more from now we will find even smaller particles. i belive this will continue for eternity.
but i do not see how this explains that there is or isn't a God

Well lets see, There are hundreds of different definitions of God, Which one is the true "God" is a matter of personal opinion. But in regards to the universe, science doesn't have the answer, and it also doesn't pretend to. So instead of Just labeling the unknown with "God" they search for the answers. But the idea of God itself is subjective to culture.

The word infinite actually means "we have no idea where the hell this thing starts or ends"...

Why do you want to hurt my head?
