no it won't hurt him.
It's better to get it now most places require the rabies certificzate and if you don't have it there is a high fine.
I wouldn't even wait I would just go get it to be safe if the dog should God forbid bite soomeone and you don't have proof that can be very serious.

I would absolutely bring this issue up with the vet. If it was your vet that lost track of the shot, I would immediately find a new vet. A lot depends on the age of the dog. Many breeders like to wait until their dogs are 12 months before giving rabies. If it is an adult dog, it is not as much of an issue.

Several years ago I moved from Washington to California. Before I moved, I wanted to make sure all my Great Danes had a check up and were current on all meds and shots. However, when I went to get their California dog licenses, California would not accept the brand of rabies shot my vet had just given them back in Washington. So, I had to have them re-vaccinated for rabies. None of the dogs have any adverse reactions.

I obviously am not a vet, but in my experience, getting multiple rabies vaccinations in a short period of time does not harm a dog. But, please talk to your vet about this.

well you wouldnt want to over vaccinate your puppy, most vet clinics can titer test dogs. The titer test shows the amount of vaccine in the dogs system with a little blood work. Ask your vet for specifications. If your vet doesnt do titer testing then call around to other vets.

Dog should be around 4-6 mnths old when they get the rabies vaccine followed by a yr later vaccine, which in some states can be followed by a 3yr rabies vaccine.

no, it won't kill your dog, the worst thing that will heppen if you give your dog any of it's shots too early, is that the shot won't work! meaning that your dog may still be suseptible to getting rabies, even after having it's shot, because it got it's shot too early!
