You don't need to be present. She owns her body and she is free to make that decision on her own. It's the law. The right thing was for her to inform you, but no, she don't really need your permission. She is your wife, but not your property. I feel sorry for you, and maybe in the future she should let you know before she makes a very important decision. Besides, having her tubes tied does not mean she can't ever have a child in the near future. Tubes tied is not a definite thing, so it's not all that bad.

Greetings.

Why if you got a vestictimy would she have a decsion in it, as a couple you probably should have talked about it, but it is her body so even if your married that makes no difference she can do what she wants, however if it is against your wishes of having more kids or something like that your marriage is going to suffer a setback or two!

Yes. She can have her tubes tied without your consent as she is your wife - not your property. What would concern me the most in your situation is that she didn't discuss it with you first. You really need to sit down and have a heart to heart with her and ask her why she made the decision without you... perhaps she felt very strongly about it and thought you might try to talk her out of it.

Yes she can get her tubes tied without you being there. It is a in and out surgery. I do not recommend it because of the after effects. My doctors told me there aren't severe after effects. It is now 4 years later and I get major cramps headaches and nausea. I also do not have a regular period. Sometimes I skip 2-3 months. Before surgery everything was okay

What planet do you live on? She can have her tubes tied, her boobs cut off and a penis attached, all without your consent. You are her husband, not her owner, LOL. The only time that you MIGHT be consulted regarding a procedure and your wife is if you are her medical power of attorney and she is unable to provide consent to a procedure.

she can do it without you but you'll probably know it because it will have a hefty bill attached to it. If she has her own money and it's seperate from yours you may not know.
There is no rule. If she knows she doesn't want kids, it's better to not force her. There are too many kids with screwed up parents.
Find someone that wants this experience or live with it.
Good luck, I mean that.

There is no law that she even needs your approval much less has to have you there with her.She is the one that has to carry the baby. If she doesn't want to, she should not. for any reason. If a lady doesn't want to be a mama then she would probably not be a very good one if forced to be. It is better that she got them tied. Think about it.

Yes, she can do that. It's a personal choice. Men can also be fixed without anyone knowing. Just like a woman can have an abortion without her significant other knowing(at least in CA). Medical information can't even be given to a spouse unless one consents to it.

Not since the '20's. Women are allowed to make those decisions without consulting anyone but their doctor. Sorry she didn't speak with you.

I have never heard of that before, not saying that it isn't true.
But if your wife does not want to have anymore kids then why would you want to force her into having more if you knew she was going to get her tubes tied.

How could you not know that she went into outpatient surgery? Did you not notice any bandages and also where were your kids at?
This sounds odd to me.
