Humility is the quality that puts your own self-interests after the interests of others.

A humble person recognizes that talents and skills he or she has are gifts from God, and remembers to give the credit to God when the world wants to congratulate and thank you.

A humble person reaches down to help someone in need, and does not merely throw money in their general direction.

A humble person always has a word of encouragement for another person, regardless of what is going on in his or her life at the moment.

A humble person is generally content with his or her present condition, and freely expresses thanks when God steps in and gives them a blessing.

A humble person understands that sometimes God allows them to be tested, and gracefully accepts the challenge.

A humble person extracts the good, the lesson, out of every situation.

When you think about it, this principle of the Bible can have an awesome effect. Imagine a world where everybody adhered to this concept. You would not have to worry about your own self-interests because if you were busy tending to everyone else's interests, you would have hundreds of people looking after yours!

I thought the movie Evan Almighty was very, very, very bad. However, there was a line I really like that Morgan Freeman says. If a person prays for patience, is he given patience or is he given an opportunity to be patient? This line made me think a lot. Think of the situations you are in and how you can be more humble. Think of your self esteem... Before I gave my life to God (and even a bit now) I was a very self centered person.. . I acted very cocky but yet had a very low self esteem. Foolish is the man who trusts man. Trust God above all things, recognize your lack of power and live the faith of Christ.

Responsibility, Knowledge, and empathy for others less fortunate then you, can humble a person.True appreciation of what you have and knowing what your weaknesses are.Learning and making your own mistakes will humble you.Instead of praising yourself for your own accomplishments and gifts let compliments come from others.Making my own mistakes and realizing I don't know everything has kept me humble!!!!!

Honestly want to know?

Through suffering, illness, pain, no cure, and down on your luck, when you have no insurance, a mate to support you, and just when your prayers are just between yourself and God.

That is when you are humbled. It's when you are a little nothing, and you know you need God's help, cure, and answers to your prayers.

You must first realize your importance in the universe. Will the earth stop revolving around the sun if you die? Will chaos rein on earth if you die? Will our society break down? Your sate government? Your local government?

How important do you think you are? You aren't, none of us are (not even our leaders).

It is written that you humble yourself by casting all you cares, anxieties, worries and concerns on God.

By being open minded, kind and generous. By never letting your pride take over. By assuming that naturally you're going to be wrong often and accepting it and learning from it by being a better person from your mistakes.
