Is there anything besides crunches and sit-ups? I've forgotten the others I used to know...

I'm not too skinny, but I know I'm not fat. It's just that I get a little gut when I eat. I used to know a bunch or good ab workouts, but I've forgotten most of them; and when I did those workouts, my tummy didn't stick out as much when I ate. Help! (It looks funny in the dress I have to wear for choir. I have a little gut every time I wear the dress because I can't sing on an empty stomach - I'd look even funnier then! :) Some of my favorite shirts show it, too.) It's not a weight issue - just a gut issue! :)

There's only one thing I know of that strengthens abs without exercise. Electro-stimulation (TENS).

Otherwise, I suggest the following:
Running.
Skipping rope.
Leg lifts while lying on your back.
Torso twists while seated.
Crunches.

Once you have jump-started the ab group by performing any of the above exercises for a week or so, you can work your abs by simply tensing them at any time. Nothing beats crunches for working the upper abs and leg lifts for working the lower abs.

Well personally i think the best ab exercise is to lay your back on the ground, and instead of keeping your feet on the ground keep them horizontally up in the air, and put both of your hands on the floor, and use your stomach muscles to make your hear almost touch your knees while keeping your legs up in the air horizontally and while this is all happening your hands should barely touch the floor and there gliding closer to your legs. This well work really good with your stomach muscles and your leg muscles because keeping your legs and feet up in the can give you a pretty good work-out. You probably never heard it before but like me and PE teachers use this because they know how good of a work out it is.....

Don't hate me for this but everytime I gain one pound, it seems that 15 of the16 ounces gets stuck right at my gut. So my dear I fear you are the victim of weight redistribution. When people are young as teens or young twenties they are usually more physically active then later. They graduate from school and have to go to work. They have less time to run with their friends, even fast walking burns calories, and they take less time to exercise. The weight slowly sneaks up and it seems our body likes to store it at or near the waist line where it is handy to keep as reserve food in case a famine sweeps across the land. (I got that from National Geographic) There might be some exercises that target the muscles better than just scrunches, for me it is a modified scrunch where I reach across my torso and touch the opposite knee with my hand. that pulls the muscles diagonally across the gut. But for me to keep my tummy tucked in, the only thing that works is reall physical work out or the calories migrate south to my waistline.
Sorry, but that might be what is happening to you.
I once saw a shirt with the wording,
"A waist is a terrible thing to mind."

The guy was munching a double cheese hamburger at the county fair!!!

I wish you luck with the battle of the bulge. It has been going on for centuries and appears not to be letting up anytime soon.........
