You cannot get a job on a cruise ship without the proper schooling and training. There are long waiting lists for people who are ready and willing to set sail.

I'd check some of the cruise reviews. All the ships are fairly new, however NCL has been having servie problems lately that are affecting their standard.

There is a whole screening process before you can start training. There is a whole thread in "ask a cruise question" on cruiselinefans.com by someone who went thru the training and got a job on one of the Pride of ships.

workers always go thru training before they are hired for the ship. It can be competitive depending on what job you are hiring for. each cruiseline has a section for job postings which are open.
