And I'm not sure if I should go to the doctor. It hurts badly every once in a while, sometimes just a minor pain and sometimes not at all.

I've had it going on for a couple of weeks now. I have seasonal allergies (though the ear ache never been a problem) and I work in a preschool.

Could it be just allergies, or pressure from the atmosphere? Or, is it more serious?

Hmmmm.....well, it could be from your allergies. Fluid tends to build up in the ears when we get stuffy. However, if it's been a few weeks, you should probably get it checked out to be safe.

I would go in and get it checked out or if you have a friend who is a nurse ask them if they will check your ear for you. Better to be safe than sorry.
