I'll take the best of both.
Give me a nice cold bottle of Ca di Medici Lambrusco Reggiano, Familia or Cubista. It is a good fruity, not too sweet lightly carbonated red wine that is best served cold.
FWIW, Champagne is nothing more than a carbonated wine.

It depends on the meal and the occasion.
I generally prefer wine daily and chapagne for special occasions.

Vintage Billecart-Salmon. That's what they pour by the glass in Paris. Really good champage.
Other than that, I like Barolos and Barberas.
