For us Christians Holy Spirit or God's Spirit is necessary in our life so that we could have a life in union with Christ Jesus, but how does the Holy Spirit works in our life? Do they work like angels? How will we know that the Holy Spirit is really working with us?

When you receive Jesus Christ as your savior, you receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be with us, since He could not be here in person. In Matthew Chapter 7 verses 16 through 20, he says that by their fruits ye shall know them. The fruits of the spirit are love and kindness.
Forbidden fruits create many jams.

The holy spirit is just a symbol of the higher self that dwells within us all as the human soul.The spirit overshadows us all and urges us all forward in a creative life of some kind.It is the beacon that showers its life into our being and makes of us a divine entity.We all share alike this awesome reality.

I believe the Holy Spirit works in us through subtle inspiration, and shows us things that might not normally occur to us.
It can come in the form of comfort, intervention, and epiphany, among other things.
And for those who are repulsed by the idea of God manifesting Himself as a Holy Spirit, well...nevermind ;)
