i find that kids these days are really big built for their age.

my youngger sis is 12, and she's tall for her age. im 16 and really petite for my age.

a few years ago, she brought her friends over. i thought " aww... they're so cute"

and today, she brought her friends over. i thought they were little tots cause they're only 12. but i saw them and i was so shocked.... they are 12 and and had the looks of a 15 year old. from height, weight and everthing.

out of intrest, my teacher had this discussion with me about this afew days ago and she said that kids are growing like monsters these days.

i mean, what do they eat???
are kids in your area growing at that rate too?
if they are, i guess its normal

I'm not old, but I understand reasonings for why parents and other adults expect for teens to act their age. You have your whole lives to worry about a boyfriend/girlfriend, but college is always best when you just knock it out of the way without anything hindering you. If you're the oldest child, you're expected to set examples for your siblings. What do you look like arguing with your 12 year old sibling? Sometimes parents carry a huge load and they need a little help, with brats arguing all day, it just makes things THAT much harder. I doubt half of the friends you have at 16 and 17 will still be your friends later in life. Family will always be around. Shots are something we need that keep us healthy. Piercing and tattoos? Dude, those are things even ADULTS regret. No one's too old for a bear at build a bear, but I do believe that young girls shouldn't be walking around with their faces caked up with make up. It's not cute on adults and definitel won't be cute on children. When you're a teen, your kind of bordering on adulthood... But you're not quite there yet. There has to be a middle ground. To think that because they want you to be more responsible means you can just show your *** whenever you'd like is stupid to me. When you start paying some bills and putting food on someone's table and in your own mouth... Then you can talk.

Hormones in the meat and dairy have increased over the past years. It's a major problem in industrialized countries (I live in Canada) because there's not enough good nutrients in the food. So companies used all kinds of chemicals in plants, veggies and fruits on top of hormones and growth serums in grains, to compensate for the low quality we're being served.

I know how you feel.

The growth hormones in meat help the growth of most people in the process of growing. But that is funny, because most kids my age (13-14-15) in my region are very very short......then there are kids that are almost seven ft....!!!!
It is strange how diverse things are

i am in Western Australia, and kids are bigger here too! We eat a lot more fat and do a lot less exercise these days which adds to the weight gain! Also every generation naturally evolves, which is how we grow taller, i am taller than both my parents, but shorter than my neice and nephew! and most people are the smae worldwide!

My daughters are 9 and 6 and they both look (and act) much older. My ex husband and I are both tall so I think that's where their height comes from but I'm not sure where they get their maturity from (I am sooooo immature!). I don't think it has to do with it being "these days" as much as it is just in their genes.

There are growth hormones in our meat and dairy. One of them being RBGH. Drink A&E milk. They do not use cows that hve been shot with growth hormones. Also eat organic meat and stay away from fast food. I have no idea why anyone would think that these things that are shot into cows would not make their way into our childrens bodies. GEEZ! LOL

It is NOT hormones in meat! GEEZ! Height, eye, and hair color can come from ancestors, not just directly from parents. I have an ancestor that had red hair. I have red highlights in my hair even though my dad was a tow-headed blond and my mom has black hair. It also has to do with nutrition. People eat healthier (REALLY, the are) these days than back in the old days. Back before there were freezers people did not have means to preserve meat, veggies in the winter and spring (especially where winters were mild), so most winters a lot of kids were malnourished and it affected their growth.
