I drink soda a lot, but I wouldn't do it everyday.
1) Your teeth become weak. It can begin to hurt when you drink cold fluids or hot fluids and your teeth may randomly chip (happened to me 3 times ... stupid enamel).
2) Your teeth become stained. Drinking dark liquids like coca cola will actually stain your teeth! If you insist on drinking a dark liquid like cola, drink it through a straw.
3) Acid! The acid in the cola can wear away at the mucus lining in your stomach, making your stomach weaker. That means more likely hood of you throwing up after eating some bad food or drinking.
4) Caffeine! You can get addicted to the caffeine in the cola. I know people who drink coffee everyday and get headaches and irritable when they don't have a cup. Since caffeine is still a drug, it's better not to get addicted to it.
5) Sugar! Sugar will make you hyper. And perhaps even fat. Don't get all fatty because of some cola.

1. Sweeteners. Sugar in soft drinks (including non-cola drinks) increases the possibility of dental caries ("cavities"). Non-nutritive sweeteners such as saccharin and aspartame also have undesirable side-effects in specific population segments. Nutritive sweeteners are a significant source of calories in the diet (about 250 per serving of a soft drink). 2. Caffein. This "upper" is added specifically to cola drinks as a class. It is a diuretic and can elevate blood pressure. It has been suggested as connected to development of rheumatoid arthritis. 3. Phosphoric acid. This acid is typically only used in cola drinks, which are very acidic (low pH) compared to other soft drinks. This can increase the rate of enamel loss from teeth. Phosphates in general are a nutritional problem when ingested in volume without corresponding calcium. This results in decalcification of bone tissue, accelerating osteoporosis in the aged. The example of Coke removing tarnish from a penny is irrelevant to health issues. Water and salt will cause iron to rust away, but they're both essential to life. Your stomach acid is much stronger than that in Coke. By the way, I've heard a microbiologist say he used to drink a Coke quickly after accidentally sucking up diluent through a pipet. He claimed the Coke was protective against the bacteria. I don't think I accept this argument, but it shows the "flip-side" of the penny example. Here are my recommendations based on a rational assessment of the above: 1. Soft drinks and coffee should be ingested in moderation. Avoid more than 4 servings a day. 2. If you are at risk for osteoporosis, avoid soft drinks with phosphoric acid (e.g., colas). 3. Drinking the diet form of soft drinks can eliminate 1000 calories or more per day from the diet and will reduce the incidence of sugar-related dental caries.

While Coke may taste great, it has it's bad health effects too.
Like the other's have stated, the caffeine addiction, the sugar rotting your enamel on your teeth, and dehydration, it can also cause you to GAIN an extra 8 pounds of weight a year. That's a lot of weight to gain because of a favorite drink! That's why its best to drink in moderation. I know that's a term you hear with alcohol all the time, but the same goes with pop and other sugary drinks.

coke, or any soda and the carbonation in it can rip your teeth apart. it breaks down the enamel. My husband says if you put a shark tooth in soda for 48 hours or so you can visibly see almost completely dissolve.
soda also dehydrates you faster, because the caffeine counterbalances whatever water intake you have. dehydration leads to lots of yucky feelings.
on the flip side...i enjoy coca cola:) just not everyday

Did you know that specifically coca-cola can be used in cars?
Look up a very harmful (and deadly) sweetener called aspartame found in diet and regular sodas.

Well drinking large quantities of soda has been shown to raise the acidity of your stomach, which messes with the pH balance of your digestive system (not good), and it actually decays your teeth worse than sugar!

The acid can cause the enamel on your teeth to wear and it can give you kidney stones. Not to mention Kidney infections. It's not good for your weight because it has lots of calories.

Coke's not good for your teeth, and your bones. And it contains like tons of sugar, which can make you fat and it's not healthy. It also contains cafeine which is also not healthy. So just don't drink it like everyday, it's not good for you
