Well to be safe I would see a doctor or an optometrist. However, I remember this happened to a guy I went to school with and aside from looking odd for a few days it diminished. Its like when you bruise and break vessels beneath the skin. Eventually it will go away. But eyes are very delicate so have to checked out.

If you have the blood on the white part of your eye, it is a small capillary between the white of the eye (sclera) and the conjunctiva that covers the sclera that has leaked. It does not hurt or itch, and feels normal. Vision is not affected. It can be caused by rubbing the eye, sneezing, or just happens. It is harmless and will go away by itself, turning yellow and green before disappearing.

If it is over the clear part of the eye or behind it (cornea) go to the doctor or ER AT ONCE because this is an emergency.

Could be a high blood pressure problem....so you might want to see your doctor. Those things happen a lot...and usually go away after a few days if nothing else serious is causing it.

I had that happen, it was gone two days later. I did go to the doctor, he said he could have been caused by a lot of sneezing or throwing up or even stress...and that it wasn't a big deal. I just rested and it was totally gone in two days. It hurt a bit and looked nasty. That was my experience...
