Do you have depression? Are your glands swollen? I'm not sure if those could be indicative to your specific illness, but you could just be over-stressed and over-worked. Calm down, don't stress out, try to get your body on a schedule on sleeping and meals, which I know is hard being in high school and college, but it's the only way to get up and moving and on track. Also incorporate exercise into your routine - it releases endorphins and energizes you. Good luck!

I had some thing VERY similar about 2 years ago. I lost 17 pounds in a month cause I almost lost my life due to a health condition that took doctors 11 months to figure out. It doesn't sound like you have the same thing but something similar. You are very young, but the first thing that came to mind was what you are eating. Lack of food will make you very tired and fatigued. And it can lead to depression which doesn't help either. Get Fortify or Ensure at the store and drink like 2 of them a day at the least just to get some nutrients in you. The more you sleep, the more you are going to be tired also. Start doing exercise. Exercise naturally keeps the body awake. If you exercise before bed, you will notice this. I wish the best for you. Start eating more carbs and green vegies. That will help your energy level as well.
Also, start going out and doing things with friends or clubs or etc. (anything social) Getting out into the social setting can help spark intrest to stay awake. It may take some time, but don't give up. You will overcome this. =>

There are several options that could make you feel that way. In order to determine if you have mono, or even Epstein-Barr, a form of mono, you must go to the doctor and require a blood test. Anemia can also cause your lack of energy. You could be low on iron. A blood test will confirm this if that is the problem. If not... look at some other factors.
How are your eating habits? Are you drinking a lot of caffeinated pop, eating a lot of sweets? If so, I suggest you cut down immediately. Eat more fruit and whole grains. Add some thoroughly cooked meat to your diet.
Remember to eat several small meals throughout the day. The larger the meals, the more difficulty the body has in absorbing them, to turn them into energy.
Try to develop a schedule for you to follow. What time do you go to sleep and wake up? Use an alarm clock. At your age you should be getting eight hours of sleep every night. set your clock to go off in eight hours.. When it goes off, get up out of bed.. eat something healthy, take a shower.
Do something active. Get your mind working. Sudoko, Crossword, Wordsearch, a walk around your block. Even a bit of light housework.
Sometimes it's necessary to train your body to retake charge of itself.
If you are feeling depressed, you have other options as well.
Identify the source of the depression. Work at getting rid of it. Generally, when I'm depressed, I think about why I'm depressed, then I talk to friends or I write it.. Writing out, or speaking about it, can help to a point. Find a solution if you can. If not, don't let it control you. Distraction works best for these types. A movie with friends, a game with someone, smelling flowers, a walk through the park with someone dear to you. Drawing, reading, writing.. Exercising, watching TV...
Don't turn to drugs or alcohol as some teens are prone to do. If you are depressed, you can get through it without those things.
But.... get a blood test done first to determine if you are physically ill or not. I wish you luck and hope you get better.
And no, you will not die unless you allow yourself to starve. Don't give up the fight. Eat something, even crackers if you must. Good luck.

Haha - it is most definitly not anorexia. Could be that you are depressed? Depression can screw around with your appetite - if you aren't eating enough then that is what would be making you cold all the time. Not eating enough makes you tired, obviously, cos you aren't giving your body any energy. Yeah like the rest of them said, sleeping too much is actually kinda bad for you. Try to make a regular sleeping pattern so your body stops being so confused. I can relate to the 16 turned 80 year old thing.. The good thing to know is that it will eventually pass. You just gotta find out if it is anything in particular, treat it, get better, and get your life back =)
Take care

You're not going to die. TOO much sleep can actually make you tired and sick. So start cutting back to 8-10 hours immediately. Drink lots of water, I mean, an INSANE amount of water, in the morning and perhaps on into the day, coffee, with a balanced diet, vitamins and some exercise. Don't just sleep, read, sit or whatever. Be more active than you think you need to be. Remember, you can always sleep when you're dead! (Maybe go see a Specialist, just in case.)

You are 16 - you have NO clue what 80 feels like. And if you are sleeping 15 hours - THAT is your problem. Getting too much sleep can make you feel worse than not getting enough sleep.

Tell him you are not fine and that you might have a problem with your thyroid. Have him test this. Also if you added pain everywhere you would have symptoms of fibromyalgia!
I would ask him to give you a B12 shot it will help you from being so tired. Good Luck!

Absolutely go to another doctor! Most cities have walk-in clinics where you can pay on a sliding scale. Don't just ignore this - it sounds serious. Good luck :)
EDIT: I had mono and this sounds a lot like my symptoms. I spent 3 months in bed. A simple blood test can detect it.

I'd see another doctor..but I do remember feeling like that when I was about your age. It could be hormonal or depression. Mine ended up being depression. See another doctor and maybe start taking some vitamins and eating healthy.
