A friend of mine had radical 360 surgery (on her back and sides) and I was wondering, will sleeping longer help her heal faster? How many hrs of sleep/day is optimum? How many hrs of sleep is too many/not effective?

I really appreciate your help!

Tell her to rest as much as she feels like and take her pain meds as prescribed by the Dr. I had percocet initially, but switched to vicodin after only a few days. Used that for about another week and a half.

I was told that your body can heal as fast or as well if you're in pain. If you're in pain you probably won't rest well.
