Yes in some ways it can change those around us because thoughts are energy. But Prayer is more than just good energy. Prayer can invoke God to change the course of peoples karmic reaction due to Him being pleased with someone or due to deep compassion for someone or some situation. Prayer can break the barriers of the laws of material nature and invoke God to change our destiny or the destiny of another. Destiny meaning the karmic reactios that are due to them. (though He already knows this will all take place.

I don't think prayer is simply a positive vibe, prayer is what's being prayed, if someone prays that they will be a better person and then falls back into bad habits they have achieved nothing through prayer other than convincing them self they have mad some kind of effort. As for positive thinking I put it to YOU, do you think bad thoughts and a negative attitude can change the world around you.

I would suggest yes! Peace, one love and make hay while the sun shines!

I think that a positive attitude and focusing on what is good in your life and what you want to get out of life will bring you into alignment with more of those positive things.

Ever notice that those who talk most of money or health problems have the most money and health problems, and those that talk about the good things in their life always seem to have more good? It's very true. When I realized this, it was as if a shift took place in my whole life and things got better. My health quickly got better, my outlook changed, my attitude was positive and I started to notice more of the same every day. I don't think it can change "the world", but it did wonders for my little "world".

I don't see prayer as a positive vibe, but more as a negative vibe. People generally pray when they are in a state of worry or need.... these are results of negative emotions, not positive.

Prayer is communion with God, goodwill toward others is a positive vibe, and they vary in their effects, but are continuations on the same theme. Prayer is best used for personal transformation of character, and goodwill has prayers effect transferred to others. Thoughts are not as potent as words, and both are impotent by comparison to action, for the latter parts are inclusive of the former, multiplied in force.

"If you desire with all your heart, friendship with every race on earth, your thought, spiritual and positive, will spread; it will become the desire of others, growing stronger and stronger, until it reaches the minds of all men.

Do not despair! Work steadily. Sincerity and love will conquer hate. How many seemingly impossible events are coming to pass in these days! Set your faces steadily towards the Light of the World. Show love to all; 'Love is the breath of the Holy Spirit in the heart of Man'. Take courage! God never forsakes His children who strive and work and pray! Let your hearts be filled with the strenuous desire that tranquillity and harmony may encircle all this warring world. So will success crown your efforts, and with the universal brotherhood will come the Kingdom of God in peace and goodwill."

(Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 29)

God bless.

I believe this to be true.
Good thoughts and a positive attitude, in part, allows ones consciousness to expand.
Consciousness can change humans, in-turn humans can change the world for the better.

"True Prayer" is a resonance or vibration emitted from within the inner heart of man. "True Prayer" is to speak to the "Creator" without speaking. This is what will effect the consciousness within the world.
This is the ultimate "Good Vibe".

We are definitely in agreement, if the question you posed , is what your heart is telling you to be a truth.

It can't hurt! Think of the placebo affect. I believe in positive imaging.

Some say you get what you say. May I humbly suggest we may get what we think!!!

God judges your heart, and promised us "the desires of our heart".

Positive attitude helps to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life.

It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking.

The way you think, day in day out, affects all aspects of your life. Learn to listen to your "internal dialogue" will help you recognize your thought patterns and how they may be affecting the way you handle the stressful situations of daily living.

Many people have found that, when they tune in to their internal dialogue, much of it is negative.

Thoughts like, "I could never do that" and "What if I fail?" can seriously impact the way you behave. This, in turn, affects every aspect of your life.

If you adopt optimism as a way of life, it will bring constructive changes into your life, and makes them happier, brighter and more successful.

With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, become optimstic and expect the best to happen.

It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening, like a muscle!

Only on an individual and personal level. By lifting yourself out of despair, you can serve as an example to others.

There is no direct outward effect of prayer.

Yes, I do. Perhaps prayer changes the person, and it is this change that comes to be in the world.
