Are we prepared for possibly thousands of American casualties in a war against a country that does not have the capacity to attack the United States?

Any country now has the capacity to attack the US -- including, of course, Afghanistan. Furthermore, some countries which would enjoy doing so now have, or soon will have, nuclear weapons. For a frighteningly realistic scenario of how this could happen, see:

what country would that be? every country is able to attack any other country in the world. with what size force and how they would do it is a different matter. a attack could be one guy from yeman going to Moscow and slapping Putin. as a example. so you need to slow down speak english and be a little more specific.

Since I don't see any likelyhood of us going to war with such a country now or in the near future, there doesn't seem to be any need for such preparation.
