I was at a light the cop ran my tag my registration was suspended coz of emmisions, She let me go with a 140 ticket
but i never could even get the emmisions done coz the car broke down and has been sitting ever since. It broke down a couple of days after i got pulled over. what do you think the judge will say? now i know it is a chance i wouldnt have to pay the ticket as long as i get my emmissions done. But i was never able to get them done?? i live in md

If your vehicle was not drivable, you were supposed to return the emissions form with an explanation. Since you failed to do so, you will now have to pass the emissions test, and prove to the court that you have complied. Now, here comes the fun part. Hope you don't get stopped to, or from the testing center while your registration is suspended.

Lets see here.....you were driving a car with suspended registration because of emissions, but you couldn't get the emissions check done because it broke down TWO days after the ticket. Don't think the judge will buy it. Sorry.

Sounds like it's time to get another car. The State makes it your responsibility to get the emissions check done. Hard to convince the judge that you couldn't get it done because the car broke down when you were driving it anyway.
