It's called tachyphylaxis. The opiate effective does diminish with regular use. Please do not take 7 or even 5. The narcotic effect or "high" will not be greatly increased.
There is Tylenol in Vicodin. Tylenol overdose can cause serious, even fatal, liver damage - - and quickly too.
The "500" in the "5/500" name is the Tylenol part of the tablet.
That's 500 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol). The Max dose of this should be no more than 1000 mg which would be two of the Vicodins you have. Taking 5 or 7 or more at a time is very dangerous ESPECIALLY if you mix it with alcohol. Liver failure is a bad way to go. Please don't go there.

yes, you are correct,

I had a wisdom tooth go bad and i tok four 5/500's per day and it worked fine at first, then after like three days i was really hurting, on the fifth day i took five of them, wound up puking all the next day.

four is ablsolutely the most you should tkae in a day, Taking seven in bordering on an overdose, in which i think happend to me when i took five, It also contains addictive substances. Opium.
