You know, I had to be divorced to finally see how damn stupid this crap with lowering the toilet seat is with women. First of all, every woman states that they don't want to fall in when they get up in the dark to pee. OK, so, if it's dark how are they going to find the toilet unless they feel for it, (in which case they will find the seat either up or down) or they will have to turn on a light, which means they can SEE if it's up or down. Second: I don't know about all of you but I don't believe I have EVER fallen into a toilet -- even at three years old! How damn dumb does a person have to be to actually do that? Even if you did how the hell could you EVER do it again?? Someone would have to have an IQ of 30 to not be able to learn how to check something as simple as a toilet seat placement before they either fell in or pee'd on the lid (which I have never heard of before). This is just some more woman bulls*it that means NOTHING except another reason to bit*h at men. I swear, I'm going to install a urinal in my bathroom.

I leave the toilet lid up. The reason is that it is impolite and gross to force anyone to touch the toilet seat if they don't need to. Another reason is opposite of the same reason being used to put it down. IF you unfortunately make a stink and you put the lid down, the stink remains for hours and resurfaces when someone opens the lid. If you leave the lid up, then if someone needs to go immediately, yes, they do have discomfort, but otherwise the smell dissapates. So if a party, then I could see leaving the lid down although then you have the issue remaining of having the next guest having to touch the toilet lid which feels very unsanitary to me! Yet it seems the majority feel better etiquette is to leave the lid down.

The cover should remain down at all times so nothing falls into the toilet. People who practice Feng Shui believe that water symbolizes wealth and positive energy will go through the opening and follow the water.
Another solution would be if a man went, he out to put the seat down for a woman to visit the loo next and if a women goes, she should put the seat up for a gent.

No big deal to me. I grew up with brothers, I'm the only girl. Got married and have boys, so I always look when I go in. There are worst things in life. Besides there is a new toilet in the market that the lid goes up and down automatically.

It's really funny to think of all these wackos falling into the toilet, so leave the seat up and have a good laugh!

If the seat is down, a man can still relieve himself through the handy hole in the top with minimal aim, but a woman will have difficulty balancing on the rim with the seat up. I want to not fall into the toilet bowl during a late-night trip to the restroom in the dark when I am half asleep. I am much more interested in not falling in than I am in equality at 2 a.m.

I want to trade lives with you if this is the only thing you have to ***** about. Have you not been using the bathroom for your whole life? For Christ's sake, raise or lower the toilet seat as needed, and worry about something else.

The best idea yet, everybody put both the seat and the lid down. Putting the lid down before you flush keeps germs from flying into the air.

Solve the problem by lowering BOTH the seat and the cover.
THEN you will have equality!

Because YOU are the one who had to lift it up in the first place, and therefore should be the one to lower it!
Why should we have to touch a germy toilet seat, just beacause, you had to lift it up to pee?
You should be courtoius enough to put it down again, so as when we need to use it, it is already down, and besides, it can be dangerous, at night, if you leave it up, and it is in the middle of the night, and she has to pee, ( and not to mention half asleep) she could fall in, and the porclien inside the toilet could hurt or even crack her bone in her bottem, not be funny or anything but this really did happen!
So, be respectful, and A GENTELMAN, for God Sakes!
All we want is for some respect!
