Wow..not sure what got you fired up, but people are people and they often disparage something they dear.
A lot of people look at an illegal immigrant and don't see some poor schmuk that can't feed his family on what he earns back home, so he heads here for a better life.
They see a bunch of people that are different, do not speak our language and are willing to work for less money than the people already here. That makes people afraid.
These immigrants are going to keep coming as long as the people in power in their home countries do not have to stop lining their own pockets with money that ought to be used to build factories etc to create decent jobs for these folks where they live.
The 10 million that are already here are not going back. Any one that thinks they will go back is mistaken. We cannot afford to track down 10 Million people and deport them via the due process to which they are entitled. That effort would make the present War in Iraq look inexpensive and much more doable! . I'm not sire what the solution is, but we need to get used to these folks. They also need ot work a bit harder to assimilate themselves.

A lot of people don't understand what it is to be an immigrant (legal or illegal). They try to put everyone on the "same boat" so to speak. They forget that people are people and they should be looked at as individuals rather than to be all judged on the actions of some. Not all immigrants are the same and it's wrong to penalize immigrants who come here and contribute for the actions of a few who may have come here to sell drugs and do stuff like that. I really hope that our senators and representatives take a good look at where the country is headed when it comes to immigration. All these laws that they have passed over the years contradict what this great country is about.

They come here looking for a better way of life you can't blame anyone for that! the whole thing though is this they need to stay in their own respective countries and fight for change there it was allright to come here in the 40s 50s 60s but now theres way too many people here now and the population just keeps growing
the time for immigrating to this country is long past as for the ridiculous notion that they fill jobs americans don't want to do the reason americans don't do those jobs is they don't pay well enough to live on as far as the notion that we'll pay more for food is ridiculous as well because the government needs to regulate the pricing of the food and start monitoring exessive profits of big business to make sure everyone is being treated fairly consumers laborers and big buisness alike that's where the problem lies just becuase this is a democracy doesn't give anyone the right to exploit or defraud the american consumer in order to reap excessive profits.A good example is this (food)when a farmer ,rancher is allowed to sell food to other countries for a higher profit than they canget here their allowed to do it then the supply goes down here prices go up and we the consumers lose money out of our pockets instead of saving it for future needs this should not be allowed we need to keep it in america and if there's an over abundance of what ever then export it in this way we can keep prices low over here I do not care if you can't make a million dollars in a year( boofu#%*hoo) they'll just have to make a reasonable profit if that be 100,000 200,000 a year that's more than enough profit for anyone if they say that's not enough then their just greedy with a capital G

I would love to find out why Hispanics are doing so poorly in our school system compared to the Asians, but I can't even get people to discuss why with out having people call each other racist. I do have a few pieces of the puzzle, but this problem can not be explained with a single simple answer. I don't look down on people for being uneducated. Schooling is not a measure of a person's IQ. Some of the brightest people I know are self educated. What I don't like is people who look down on education, who thinks they know everything they need to know.
As for the rest of your question, I have strong concerns of people who lived in huts being transplanted into a modern city. There are compatibility issues. We have a lot of problems in LA of immigrants having their kids killed because they let their kids play around train tracks. I deal with a lot of immigrants and they do not seem to have the same understanding on what is dangerous. I get a headache explaining them that Pesticides are dangerous to humans as well. The problem is that there lack of understanding also endanger the public as well. They might expose the unsuspecting people with the pesticides or misuse gasoline and start a huge fire. Americans are capable of doing the samething, but due to schooling they are less likely.
As for free education for illegal immigrants, I actually have been seen supporting this. Despite not wanting them here, I insist since they are here, we need to give them an opportunity to learn. My exact quote is, " we want less stupid people here." Even if we kick them out, they would help improve the world's condition.

i'm in new mexico and being so close to the border, there are a lot of illegals. a lot. a lot. why didn't i learn spanish when i had the chance? I didn't know there would be this mass influx and i have to pay for telemundo even when i don't understand. these kids here have a chance. they don't graduate. i'm talking about illegal kids. you want to talk about graditude, you would think they would be, but 60-70% drop out. they all speak spanish in the schools. i'm already a minority, (asian), but damn i was really a minority when i went there so don't say that they don't get a chance because they do. besides, when more and more come here, they kill off whatever chance of survival there is down there. i remember reading an article that all that's left are kids and old people. oh and stupid people. it takes brains to cross illegally. that much, i will admit

Well if they are so smart why can't they do something smart like change their own country. Too many Mexican girls have the highest out wed birth rates in the country and then they drop out of school ,start collecting any freebies they can and repeat the same cycle that drove them out of Mexico to come here in the first place.Mexicans have huge families with the wage earner making 7.00 an hour trying to support a family of 10 that is not smart, that is dumb as trying to say they want a better life when all they are doing is the same thing that made them decide to become criminals. What is the next country they will break into?

I've been in public and private. The real question here is legal status. Illegal status should mean a poerson cannot enjoy the same benefits as a native resident of that country. That means no schooling, no shopping, no medical, nothing besides the gift of being thrown off our property. No second chances.

I understand the concern some people have in regards to illegal immigrants, but the truth is they're here doing the jobs that us Americans refuse to do. They come here to work and send money home to their families. How could people who live in country which was built on immigration be so cruel. These people are coming here to find a better life and they are actually serving a purpose here. They are doing the jobs that us Americans do not want to do. I can't envision many Americans picking oranges. I don't think we should open our borders, but i think these people deserve some compassion. Especially the immigrants who have been here for a very long time and have built lives here. Ignorance is not the approach that should be taken when dealing with the so called immigration problem in our country.

You're right.
My parents were illegals immigrants before.
Now they are citizens of the US.
And you know what, I'm way proud to say that.
You're right. Illegal immigrants aren't stupid. Hell, they passed up the border patrol, so they got to have something more than most people have.
I just think that we should allow legal immigration more. It is however a problem for illegal immigrants to be here, but how come we can't make it easier to legalize them?

I agree with what you are saying...for the most part.
True, if there had been a private school, my parents could not have afforded to send me there, but though I attended 10 schools in 12 years of public schooling in 5 different states, none of the places had a "private" school of any type!
As to the illegals, from what I have read, many of them are above-average in education. Many of them are basically good people; but, they are desperate, due to their political climate.
