I have naturally wavy hair, and I hate it! For the past two years I've been getting the japense straightening perm (stick straight hair for an entire year) I like it, and it's kept my hair split-end-less but I get bored of it. I can't curl it, style it, and it has no volume. This christmas I have two choices for a christmas present:
1. Getting my 3rd year of the straight perm for 500$
2. OR a 500$ shopping spree.
The shopping spree is so tempting! Truthfully, I'm tired of stick straight hair. But I don't want split ends! Something that might make me feel better about it, ways to flat iron/curl hair without damaging hair?:l I think that's the only thing holding me back right now. I love my healthy hair, and i'm trying to grow it out.
If you were me, what would you do? Go for the stick straight, un-style..able?, but split-end-less healthy hair for the 3RD year. Or go on a 500$ shopping spree? I'm going into high school next Sept. and I would love new clothes! But Idk??? Help!

I'd definitely say shopping spree. That way, you get get new clothes for next year and shopping is always fun and an awesome present.
If you're worried about your hair, maybe try a new shampoo/conditioner and it'll help. For straighter hair with volume, try Herbal Essences.

Go for the shopping spree! Why get you hair done a way you don't really like when you could go get new clothes and stuff? While you're out shopping, look for things to put in your hair that lets it look good without straightening it! It may be a whole year, but it would be something different. And even if you find out that way to much effort is involved to make your hair up to par daily, then just throw it into a cute updo and grow out that healthy hair!

Let me tell u a secret (cheap straightener)- go to Supply store and purchase a perm for ur hair type(colored-bleached-resistant) follow the instructions-except instead of rolling ur hair like a perm use a very fine tooth comb to comb thru ur hair during the processing time and the neutralizer- this will probably cost u about $10 will last for about 2 mths - so thats 10 mths of ur normal hair and u will still have $490 to blow

shopping spree!!! You can use $100 of that to buy yourself a chi straightener ( thats what I have and love it!) Then you can use the rest to buy clothes!
Oh, and by the way, the chi does not give you split ends and even if it did, who cares? Do you know how many people have split ends??!! I mean gosh, you goes up to you, picks up the ends of your hair and says, " Gross, you have split ends!"

if you want no split ends, hairdressers suggest getting 1/4 inch of your hair trimmed off every 2 months. as for straightening your hair, they have all kinds of products that help shield your hair from heating products like curling irons, blow dryers and straighteners. as for a straightener, make sure to get one that has ceramic plates, they are so much better for your hair!
