i have been taking lasix 40 mg when i have to take a piss test and pass everytime, my ? is can the labs detect lasix in ur system and how long does it pop up after the urine test has been taken and sent to employer stating you passed ur drug screen?

It isn't normally part of the screen. More and more they're not accepting urines with low specific gravity, since "flushing" is popular, and eventually they may catch on.

How should I take Lasix?
Take Lasix exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more of this medication than is recommended. High doses of Lasix may cause irreversible hearing loss. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.

Lasix is an osmotic diuretic. The body wants to get rid of it so dumps it along with water in the urine. Therefore it can be found in the urine as it causes you to pee.
If you have a legal prescription for it there is no problem. If you took it illegally they could call that illegal drug use. The good news is it has low abuse potential so they do not screen for it. Why you are taking it for a urine test you did not state but you probably got told by someone you would always pass if you did. That is not true.

A drug screen in a urine test is specific for illegal drugs. We do not test for lasix.

becareful, lasix is a powerful diuretic, all it does is make you pee alot. Depending on what drugs you are taking and what drugs they are testing for, that may just make you pee them out quicker. (Most companies just test for opiates.) The fact that you are using a prescription drug to cover up illegal drugs, shows you have a problem. Please get some help before it does affect your job.
