I had a dream about hummingbirds and?

In this dream these hummingbirds were flying all around this rose bush that my dad planted several years before he died. What could this mean?

I'm guessing that it has to do something with your dad. Maybe the time he died or the rose bushes themselves.
Maybe the last thing you thought about when you went to sleep was the rose bushes, so you started to dream about them.

What do hummingbirds mean to you? To me, the represent the mysterious, the elusive- When I was a child I wanted to catch one and have it as a pet, but no one has hummingbirds for pets (that I have heard about) they are free spirited creatures that to me are attractive and out of reach. Maybe you are associating the hummingbirds with your father and his being out of reach. Around but you can't touch or feel him or see him up close. The rose bush meant a lot to your dad. I had a painting once of a man reaching into the grass. The history behind the painting was the loss of his lover to AIDS and that he was separated from him, searching for him, unable to physically connect. Sounds like grieving- missing the person you can no longer hold, whether a lover, a child, a husband, a wife, a daugther or a son.
