I was just wondering how old do your child have to be to claim for taxes-

You can start claiming the child in the year they are born.

You can claim the child for the year when they are born. You can usually claim them as dependents until they're 18 - if they are 19-23 and full-time students you can very possibly still claim them. After age 23, unless they are disabled, you can't claim them if they have much income - there are very specific rules for kids over age 23, and usually you can't claim them.

In the year they are born, until they are 18 unless you are supporting them through college.

Also, make sure to keep a file for all the medical expenses that aren't paid by insurance, that might be a bigger deduction the first year!
