With a ASVAB score of 98, you can pretty much pick what you want in almost any branch. There are other requirements in many fields, but a 98 gives you a good start.

One field in high demand is the Navy's nuclear field. The bonuses are huge and advancement is fast. If you like engineering and/or electronics, ask your local Navy recruiter about the nuclear program. They are always looking for nucs, so they will be happy to talk to you.

That you scored in the 98th percentile of all the people taking it the last time they calibrated the numbers. What really matters for what jobs you can or can't get are the line scores. That's how you did on the questions that relate to varrious technical aptitudes. If you made a 98, then you probably did quite well, and I'd guess qualify for almost any job - some do require additional tests. Talk to a recruiter though and they can explain your options to you.

I think I made a 96 if I recall correctly.

K...98 is a very good score. 30 is passing, and considered average. So really anything above a 30, and you are doing alright. However, the higher score that you get, the more jobs will be able to open up to you if you are qualified in all the other areas that the certain jobs require (like security clearances and all that).

Don't get too focused on your 98 though. There is another number that you need to look at. Your GT score. That one is very important when it comes to jobs. In fact, it is sometimes more important than the overal 98 that you are talking about.

You get a score for each section of the test, but I don't know how they figure the GT score, but I do know that it is very very important in a lot of jobs.

Join the Air Force. Its easier. Any job will be yours.

and you just cant make a 98, there is 5 parts of the asvab. maybe in one section you scored a 98, but there is no over all score.

You would practically qualify for any job in the Army only according to the ASVAB. As long as there are no issues with you medically or morally, you should not have an issue getting what you want.

The ASVAB isn't "prescious components" and various highschool scholars who're uncertain approximately turning out to be a member of the army take the attempt to verify. Your college counselor can set it up for you, or you could confer with a recruiter.

Just about any job you would like is yours, with the exception of infantry, artillery, and the like. Be prepared, as the local recruiters, and I mean ALL of them will calling you!
