I think that is a good question..
I am Mormon. I served a misison here in the united states. I know that it is the position of the church that their first rersponcibility is to keep the missionarys safe. Unfortunatly the middle east for the most part is not a safe place. If their saftey could be ensured for the most part. (accidents and illness happen and there are bad people in every society) we would send missionaries there.
For example China. We still do not send people into mainland China. But we do send them to Hong Kong. In time as China becomes more democratic we will send missionaries more wide spread in china.

I'm not sure where specifically you're talking about, but I think Christians aim towards countries and regions that have the least faith in God. Maybe the middle east has a lot of christianity there, and isn't necessary for travel there? Christians also go to poor countries sometimes, just to help out. but nonchristians do that too
EDIT
it is our job, but as a 13 year old, i'm not sure i could travel by plane to another country. locally, i just discuess my own beliefs and answer my doubts

They do. I have traveled many places all over the world. I have witnessed riots between xians & muslims in many places. You have heard of missionaries right? While in Africa I witnessed a riot, a xian refused to cover correctly when she entered a muslim village. This, as you can imagine got ppl a little riled, but what really set it off was the fact that xians were just trying to convert & not really doing true missionary work. There was very little medical care which had been promised along with food. Xians, Muslims & theives were selling the food instead of distributing it, it just snowballed from there. Pretty crazy watching this from an Atheist point of view. BTW xians were not trying to convert muslims but a tribe, the Kuukuru.

Because most Muslim country's will not let them in, if they do get in, most radical Muslims will kill them.
And many missionaries go to those places all the time, they were born there and are citizens. They come here and go back there.
Once there, they spread the Word of God and cannot be kicked out because they are born there.
Happens all the time.
Its the old, have you ever seen a million dollars?
Then how do you know it exists?

Christians do go, but if it became known that they came to spread Christianity, they wouldn’t get past the airport security. They’d get sent straight to an unknown place where they would probably get martyred. It would be a VERY bad idea to trumpet our coming and going. Must stay alive first to be able to spread the Good News.

Oh, there were organized trips to the middle east all right. They were called Crusades. There were 3 or 4 of them. Rather bloody affairs, too. The locals didn't care much for the visitors. I wonder why?

They do. Many have died trying. Also, Christian radio programs go into the Middle East. Check out "Thru the Bible", with Dr. J. Vernon McGee. He is going into many Muslim countries. I happen to know a Muslim who became a Christian while living in his home country. When the family found out that he converted they disowned him and he was forced to leave the country because many of the town folks wanted to kill him. He is now a Christian minister in England.

many Christians sin and disobey Christ's command, others go and are never heard from again, others go and return. However, it should be noted that a Christian child is sold as a slave in many Islamic countries for the price of a pound of salt.

This question has been very adequately covered, but I will ad this much. If you watch tv, you can't help seeing them beg for money to do this work across the world.
All religions do it, including our own. We have a collage devoted to training ministers who look forward to going to foreign posts to spend their lives educating the poor and giving aid to all in need.

If it's the news you refer to as the means of communication for the "we never hear about", then of course you never hear about it. Humans are, sadly, more interested in the deaths and the destructions of the world. They don't want to hear about people going into other countries to save their souls.
