I have an interest in beliefs and religions
but by the appearance of things on this Yahoo!Answers site it is appearing that nowadays the greatest catechism subject that makes Christians different from atheists and other non-church goers is the subject of Gay Sex
isnt it rather Kinky for such a large segment of the Population to be so exclusively oriented into what is going on in other people's bedrooms especially in the bedrooms of those sharing with the same sex?
Is it evolution or is it creation that the greater public view of Christianity is no longer linked to teachings of love thy neighbor but rather a rather perverse interest in if the neighbor is other than just sleeping with a certain sex
I am a bit more interested in other aspects of religions than just sexuality but it seems to me that nowadays religion needs sexuality and especially imagined perversity of sexuality to be interesting to the lives of those professing to be in the faith

are those that are in the faith in the faith mostly for the little eroticism endrophine kicks that they get by sticking their interests into same sex bedrooms?
Is this what modern Christianity has collapsed into?

Gentri, you are so cool. The people who spend the most time comdemning gay sex are the ones who wish they were doing it instead of talking about it. It just seems so......oily.

You have brought up a very interesting and deeply thoughtful question.I am glad to give my thoughts to you and anyone else, who does not have to agree.I am deeply shocked at the degraded morals of people in general but more so of those who profess to be christians. The scriptures are clear on same sexual unions, and if we go into this it will create a storm...So, I would suggest therefore that it is easier to look at the bibles prophecies regarding the sexual attitude of people today and of the ever increasing need to be perverse. The apostles who where taught by Jesus, also warned of gods viewpoint toward those who disobeyed him, and practice these things...and his high moral expectations also of christains then and today, as gods standards do not change only mankind...... The sciptures which can be read so profoundly are found in... 2 TIMOTHY 3 v 1-5, MATTHEW 24 V 36-39, I CORINTHIANS 6 V 9+10, I CORINTHIANS 6 V 18, I CORINTHIANS 7 V 36, I CORINTHIANS 8 V10, GALATIONS 5 19 - 21, EPHESIANS 5 V 5, I TIMOTHY 1 V10, HEBREWS 13 V 4 (NOTE: The rendering of the phrase 'FORNICATION '..includes all perverse sexual practices oppossed by god, including sex before marriage, adultery, divorce without the grounds of fornication or adultery, is adultery, sex outside of marriage, men having more than one wife, same sex marriages/relationships and foreplay outside the bounds of marriage ( kissing and cuddling does not count, but must be monitored by those engaged in it for obvious reasons). This can be translated from the original use of the greek word for 'FORNICATION ' used here in the christian greek scriptures.

Believe me, I have no interest in what goes on iny anyone else's bedroom- period. People who do just need to get laid. They're obviously not getting any. Besides this, when a person's own business is worth minding, they usually have the sense to keep out of other people's business. When they don't, Tv shows like Jerry Springer and Maury seem to be some sick, twisted, substitute for an inability to cease fantasizing about other people's sex lives. How sick is that?

Absolutely.

I'm a Christian and don't understand this preoccupation either. The new testament only mentions homosexuality twice, once in Chronicles and once in Roman's however, it mentions not judging others 15 times in the 4 gospils alone.

When Jesus was asked which commandment was greatest he said "To love thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul and all thy might and liken unto this to love thy neighbor as thyself." As christians, loving others and sharing the love of christ as demonstrated in our own lives should come first and most important. Everything else is a distracting side issue.

Afterall, when confronted by indignant religious leaders (the pharasees) Jesus himself refused to dissasociate himself with those society had labeled "sinners".

And gatita_63109, I gently disagree. About, the section of the OT (deutaronomy I think, but could be wrong) that condemns homosexuality, the very next passage after forbidding sex with animals forbid the wearing of two different kinds of fabric at the same time. Christians no longer follw OT Law nor are we expected to. The sacrifice of Christ freed us from the penalty of the law.

If you still insist on following OT Law word for word however, you better check that poly-cotton blend you're wearing right now.

Look, Freud was right, even if he was a lunatic. It's all about sex. It's always been about sex from the begining of time - there is one driving goal, to pass down your genetic material.

Religion is evolved sexual behaviour - groups that regulated sexual activity survived where other groups did not. Even today, sex is only sanctioned through the church - there can be no sex outside of marriage, therefor there can be no sex outside the church.

Religion is all about sexual behaviour, even if most people have forgotten how and why it all got started.

I do not think I have ever brought it up.
On this forum, it seems that this topic is mostly brought up by gays and gay appeasers who are trying to justify themselves or their conduct by attacking the Christian in lieu of the Bible which set the standard that same sex relationships are wrong. It is not Christians that set the standard, it is God. If a person decides that they want to pursue the gay/lesbian lifestyle, that if great because they alone must face the consequences. But why are they always trying to justify their beliefs here?

As a Christian, I ask of you one simple thing... Do not base your view of Christianity on a group of people (many of whom simply claim to be Christians, but truly are not) who sit around in a Yahoo message room. Some are faithful to the true Christian faith, while most are nut cases who know little about the bible, out for pointless debate.

Gay sex/marriage, stem cell research, prayer in schools, etc. are all the conservative spin doctor's way of distracting people from the real issues, like a president that lies to take a country into a war to help out his oil buddies.

I think you are reading it wrong. Christians are not asking people what they do in the bedroom. They are being TOLD about when they don't really care to know.
