They may deserve it;-{ but that only reinforces behaviour.
That's why Jesus said to turn the other cheek when attacked.
Perhaps it will make the other person re-consider their action.

While rude people may DESERVE to be treated rudely, to paraphrase the old adage, "Two rudes don't make a right."
Besides, treating someone with respectful politeness can actually drive the person batty! So it's sort of a back-door type revenge.
Have a polite day.

And 'eye for an eye'......... sometimes we'd like to do that, wouldn't we. And we've all heard the saying, "Two wrongs don't make a right!" But own, how right it would fell for a 'few minutes'. Ha! I sometime simply say, "That's rude." and then I walk away. If they pursue me, I fininish the conversation and then thell them I'll give them a 'wide birth' and would appreciate the same from them.
There is no excuse to be a 'batting bag' for rude people. Jesus said for us to 'love as He has loved us' but He didn't say we had to be walked on. It's a bit difficult to respect someone that shows no respect. Just don't be rude yourself.
I hope this helps. Blessings.

I treat rude people rudely.
I used to be polite to them... now I don't.
For example, if I get into the elevator and say hi or smile at someone in there and they just ignore me or stare at me, I turn my back to them and don't acknowledge them for the remainder of the time in the elevator.
Or, if a cashier doesn't make eye-contact or speak to me, I return the favour. I pay, pick up my groceries, and leave.

when im faced in this situation, i try 2 remember the golden rule. i also try to show people with bad attitudes compassion; i at times have a bad attitude, but when im treated with one i take it as karma and / or, being "treated with my own medicine" (thats me personally though, i cant speak for everyone else).
giving people a bad attitude back will only reinforce their need to have a bad attitude; whereas giving a positive attitude back will not only surprise them as well as make them feel guilty, but also help them to be bigger people.
its the way the world seems to work you know, teaching people what their parents were unable to teach them.

What's the golden rule? Treat others as you would want to be treated. If someone else isn't following that rule, why sink to their level?

It would seem to be a knee jerk reaction but it wouldn't accomplish anything. It's always better to be the bigger person and walk away. You'll respect yourself more for it.

if you treat them the way they are , like you said RUDE then what would be the difference left between you and that rude person then you will also be same acting RUDE. show them that there is difference between you and them , they are RUDE, but you are not like them, in my opinion one should maintain this difference.

What's the saying? "two wrongs, don't make a right". I wouldn't be overly friendly with a rude person, but I wouldn't lower your standards and be just as rude back.
