Honestly, EVERY family is different. My father had a pretty simple rule, while under my roof follow my basic rules. When my brothers decided to not be Witnesses, it made him sad, but he realised it was their decision. When, in part because of this decision of their's, they started staying out all night, or breaking other such rules, they were asked to leave. They were both over 18 at such time.

Clearly if someone isn't of legal age to leave, they stay, as among other things, even if not loved, which they are, they are still children.

As for pursuing their own religious beliefs, this probably will be left for after they move out.

Depends on the Family...some will be disfellowshipped and not allowed to have meals with the family...Some are abused, some go on business as usual.

In my family, when my older brother did this, he was beaten until he ran away from home, then he was allowed to stay home, but he left home at 17

most of the times, the parents try to "hide" from others, especially the elders, the fact that their kids are falling out of the "truth". Since if a child is disfellowshiped, even the family has to stop associating with him/her.
