My best friend, her boyfriend, my boyfriend, and I used to go on countless double dates.

Ever since my boyfriend and I broke up, nothing has changed and I'm now a third wheel for my best friend and her boyfriend.

Lately I've had some strong feelings for her boyfriend.
He's pretty much one of my best friends, too.

Now, I avoid them so I don't have to see their PDA and because I feel terrible about it.

I don't know what to do.

I've tried everything from avoiding him to going out with someone else to replace him.

The feelings just won't go away.

What would you do?

It's so hard when they talks to me about her problems with him, or how much she loves him, or vice versa.

I just don't know what to do anymore.

Try looking for someone else. You are just feeling lonly and jealous. Luckly you have been taking actions to prevent things from going further, which is good. Focus yourself on someone else.

Are you in love with him or with the IDEA of him? IE does he seem to be all things you want in a boyfriend, everything that your relationship wasn't, etc?

I would NOT tell my friend that I had the hots for her boyfriend. Instead, I would tell her that, even though I'm happy she's found a good relationship, it's really hard for me to play the third wheel and sometimes I feel envious of how tight she is with her guy. Tell her that you still like spending time with her, but maybe it could be more "girl" time and less "2+1" time.

Start spending time with other people, especially if you have other girlfriends who are single, and quit mooning over him. There is someone out there for you, and he is not worth losing your friendship.

Well, since the feelings started when you broke up with your own boyfriend, and this guy is someone you were already close to, I think you're latching onto your positive feelings for him. I think that if you act on the feelings, you should be slapped, so you need to snap out of it. I don't believe that our feelings choose us. You do get to choose how to respond to situations, and mold your emotions. I do think you should talk to your best friend about this, but NOT her boyfriend. Before you do, though, you should think about if you're really having feelings for him, or just wishing you had something that your best friend has that you miss having.

i think that yur in a rally tuff situation but i guess you need to sit them down and tell both of them. if she is really ur friend then she will understand you can't controll ur feelings and if he doesn't like you then move to the next guy and act like nothing happened
