I completely agree.

I don't understand how people who read the bible can skip over the verse that says you will be judged to the degree you judge others. (I can't remember the exact verse grr...)

Never let judgemental Christians stop you from becoming a Christian or reading the Bible. If you actually read the gospels, Jesus can judge (because he's God) , but warned those who were judgemental against others. Judging is God's job...not yours!

I assume you are not a conventional Christian. I also assume you have had a bad experience with believers and judging. Christians aren't God. Christians aren't perfect either. God didn't make human to set an example, or Christians. God sent Jesus Christ to set an example. The Bible today is very current because different parts of it have been revealed all through history. For instance, Martin Luther was revealed by faith the just will live. Now, if you take the time to read it, you might be revealed great things about the plan for you or the plan for the end of days. The Bible is very current because History has a funny way of repeating itself. So, when you say the Bible is not current I assume you are not a very avid reader of it, which is not necessarily a bad thing, it is a sign that it may be time to start reading, don't you think?

I don't quite understand what you are saying... However, I will try to assume what you are trying to say is that you believe in the Bible and the authority it conserves, you also believe in its continuity... So, I assume your questions really is, Is there a more accurate or helpful tool than the Bible?

The answer, if you happen to peek around Romans or both the Corinthians epistles, is no. The authority was given by God to the Bible which was written by men, but inspired directly by God.

You could however read some biblical aids to aid you in your growing relationship with God. Like Ellen G. White, or other biblical commentaries.

The Bible is a tool to better yes ourselves...

We are all growing, learning... Some at different and faster levels than others... In the Bible it shows for us to not be judging others... It is said lots of times..

I too pass judgment lots of times... It may be because I am tired, over stressed, or just being plain ignorant... "Eyes closed to the situation.." As I too am Yes a sinner... It is imperfection of all of us... That does not mean we cannot grow to a higher level and realize and Do accept the Bible as if we were standing in front of a mirror naked... We see what is in the mirror... The Bible is for us to evaluate our own selves... ON a deeper level than of any standard mankind has, as this the most High level there is...

IF I can do this, I will be doing what is pleasing to God... He loves all of us... HE hates the act of being bad... Not the person... As we too need to be...

Just because someone has strong faith or Tons of Bible knowledge, does not mean they are free from ever doing wrong... It is a loving book, with lots of vital information for each one of us to peer into our hearts and one either rip out the bad in us, or choose to say no thanks....

People thinking that they can better the bible is the reason most don't understand what it is. It's not a tool to better yourself with. It's the word of God in the hands of God with which he betters you, if you will humble your self under his hand.

There are a lot of situation ethics in the Bible to favor Christianity. Praise the LORD!

No. I don't agree with whatever you just said. God's word is God's word. It doesn't change. Just like God doesn't change. No one needs to change it. there's a warning in the Bible about that. Maybe you should open it and read it.

What?!?
Your rambling says enough...
How much of it have you read?
Are you opposed to the message of love, grace, forgiveness, peace and wisdom?
It doesn't need to change for 2007 or any year.
But a little more balance and effort in before you become judgmental.

The Bible has meny verses on judging, including judging others and how to do it righteously.

God does not change and therefore His word does not change.

I am reminded of the woman who was caught in sin. It is assumed she was a harlot(though we don't know for certain).
Jesus words to the crowd was, "Let him who is WITHOUT sin cast the first stone." We must live by our example, for that is what people watch about us 100% of the time.
