Haha, dogs just love being with people and would be heartbroken if you made them sleep on the floor. Be nice to them!

No. Our dogs are allowed on the bed and couch, but they are trained to get "off" when we tell them to. Besides, the dogs don't really like fighting for the bed space anymore than we do. So unless it's cold outside they snuggle for a few hours and then go to their own beds after we've fallen asleep.

Alright you think you've got problems? We have 3 very small dogs but only 1 sleeps in the bed. In the warm months she sleeps on my husbands pillow! The poor guy has no friggin pillow.....okay he really does - I bought him a small travel sized pillow. haha
In the cold months she sleeps under the cover right up against his legs...he can't move but at least he'll have his pillow. And you wouldn't mind but she a BIG dog at around 10 pounds.
And when he goes on a business trip he can't sleep - obviously he misses his 10 lb dog and his travel pillow.
My 2 other dogs sleep in their crates - they are bad and we'd get NO sleep!

No, I don't have to fight the dog for the bed. My doggie is quite the lady and lies in one corner of the bed. The cat takes the headboard. Plenty of room for the 3 of us.! These are the sort of things we should ask our future spouses before we get married probably! Good luck Bluegrass. You had better stake out your little corner of the bed.

I have a Bichon Frise and a full size bed and every night she manages to lie on the bed in a way that leaves no room for me!
I either move her or sleep around her. When i move her she growls and gets mad but she gets over it.

Crate training babe! I did that with my dog early on and when I go to bed...she puts herself in the crate and I shut the door...no problems! I only have to worry about my 2 cats joining me in the middle of the night! About 3AM is the time they want to be petted and loved on! Drives me crazy sometimes!!! lol =D
